could my dog be pregnant

hi i asked for advice before about my dog after she had been sucesfully mounted and tied with another dog, but i have been told that because she was still bleeding from her period that she cant be pregnant is this true or should i still expect some puppies in 9 weeks time.

so even though my dog was still mid period she could be pregnant then it was just one of my sisters friends said that if she was still producing blood then it was very unlikely

I don't know what your friend told you, but EVEN THOUGH your dog was bleeding, she can definantly still get pregnant. Around 65 days is normal gestation. I would look into the care needed for a pregnant female such as high quality food, whelping boxes...and read up so you are ready. Usually pregnancy can be detected from 30-35 days by your vet via ultrasound or x-rays. Happy planning.

mid period is the exact time ..9 days in.. window for breeding ..9 days out. that was what i was taught by old boss...

you were right gustav..i can't remember now if it is 48 or 72 hours..but i do know it is smack in the middle..and when she is READY for ovulation she will allow a mating..not before or after.
