I've heard from a couple people already in other threads who either are owned by one or who appreciate the noble coonhound. I must confess, if someone would have told me 5 years ago that I'd be in to coonhounds, I would have told you no way. No, actually, I would have said, "What's a coonhound?" I'm a city mouse, born and raised. I don't hunt (I'm a vegetarian, so sometimes I hunt the wild tofu) and I honestly don't know anyone who does. I never knew there was such a thing as a coonhound until The-Coonhound-Now-Known-As-Marlowe marched into the animal shelter I volunteered at. I went home and started researching because, honestly? You can't look into the eyes of a hound and say no. I was actually at the time in the market for a rescue bloodhound, so it wasn't too far of a leap, and boy am I glad I made it.
