Red I agree. You shouldn't be insulted or embarassed, if you can justify the breeding to yourself, than it shouldn't be hard to explain your reasons when asked.

If you get negative feedback, regardless of tone, put your feelings aside, and actually think about it. Really. (I've done this before... getting bashed isn't nice, but usually there's a good reason. You have to suck it up and think about it in a different light. Then maybe you can take that knowledge be the bigger person and admit what you've done wrong)

As RD said, what's done is done ChiBree, I'm not one to judge, but hope that you will take all of these opinions into account if you decide to breed again.

Whats the point in health testing, if ppl choose to ignore the bad results and change what it means to suit them?

I am also against irresponsible breeders and BYB too but ppl come here for help and answers so why cant we just bite the bullet and help? I know how hard it is.

It happens on all forums, and it's getting old.

For instance, I know of a member of another forum who speaks just as Summitview about breeding, and stirs up alot emotion all the time, and at another forum, this person has NEVER even INSINUATED that any breeding anyone is doing is wrong in ANY way what so ever, they just answer questions and help!

Talk about wanting reputation points!!!Lol, can you spell FRAUD???

Life is too short to sit and argue w/ a wannabe internet warrior who speaks the word of breeding bible, so, just ignore, forget about it, whatever, we know who they are..............

Chillaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx............................................
If you are addressing me here, I would appreciate a more direct approach.

Nicely put, Red. I agree.

Honestly, a responsible breeder has nothing to hide. I feel that getting defensive when the faults of a dog are brought up is simply showing a guilty conscience or some serious kennel blindness. People who breed their pet dogs often don't WANT to see their flaws and problems. As long as they get cute puppies and money for the cute puppies, it's all good. Once the puppies leave their house, they are no longer their problem.

Chibree, I really do hope you remember what people have said to you. Push aside your emotions and defensiveness and try to understand that they were not saying these things to be mean, but to give you information.

Health testing is a tool.

There are very good reasons, and statistical evidence to support such, as to why countries world wide have not disallowed the breeding of Grade 1 individuals in Rottweilers.

Should the statistics for ED improve in Rottweilers, and the breed average falls below 31%, then there will be good reason NOT to select or use sound animals who have been graded DJD 1 in the elbows.

People who need help and answers who are breeding irresponsibly (whether intentional or not) should get educated on responsible breeding.

If they can find their way here to ask a question, there is no reason on EARTH why they can't also do a search on RESPONSIBLE BREEDING and have all the answers at their fingertips.

I too agree with everything summitview has said. I just don't see the point in hammering ChiBree when her dog is already pregnant. She needs help, she's asked questions, answering those would be the best thing we could do. Lecturing her when the dog is already pregnant is useless.

This is rediculous. If someone comes here for help then that means they must care to a certain degree. Give them help rather than giving them the "should have's". Its over, why do you have to keep pushing it, just give them advice on how to move FORWARD as no one can go back in time.

SV, you honestly confuse me. I remember on one thread I stook up for you because people wher bashing you because you said a title was not that important to you and then you say that a title is the only way to prove something. I am honestly confused and I am not trying to bash you. I would just like to know what side you were on, if any.

Bah. Lots of people come here just to have an answer to their problem and leave right away. They don't care about dogs in general, but just about their specific problem. Like so many people breed their dogs to make money and end up having a problem and come post here to have a solution, then leave...

Also, the reason for pushing it is just so that it doesn't happen again... Because someone murders someone else, are you going to stop pushing it and say 'what is done is done', or try to make it so it doesn't happen again? Ok, extreme example, but it's the same idea...

It's just an example though, not saying it applies to Chi or anything.

there are too many people here that think they are better than everyone else because of different issues
i hate it when people use this phrase, for pitty's sake, grow up, SV doesnt think shes better then anyone, she just loves dogs, and doesnt back down when attacked,

i think you mistaking 'thinking they are better then everyone else' for 'intelligence and devotion to dogs'

and chibree, you hardly got bashed at all, you bred an already overbred breed for no reason and trust me compared to some people on this site, you got nothing.

What's done is done. We can not undo any breeding. But, what we can do is help-educate. If we do that instead of running people off like we always do, then maybe we can start making a difference in the lives of dogs instead of contributing to the downfall.

I do not agree with BYBs or puppy mills, but us attacking people is NOT going to stop the problem. Why doesn't everyone see that? Yes, please spay/neuter your dogs that are not going to help in bettering the breed, but now that you have this litter, let's help you through it, educate you and hope that you have learned a thing or two.

Come on, folks. Chazzers are better than this! I know we all are! How many people have we run off lately who could have used to learn a thing or two?

Chibree- if you are still here and reading these posts, please take it all with a grain of salt. There are a number of knowledgeable people here that know their stuff and can further educate you on breeding, etc..

Everyone makes mistakes, please let's everyone remember that!

There is absolutely no point to this thread. These are the kind of comments that should be made through PM. We will never have a thread that is open to attacking another member and we won't have this one now. Personally I find it embarrassing that it's here because Chazhound is better than this. There is an ignore feature just for that person.Use it. Not everyone is going to get along all the time and not everyone is going to agree on issues. Most of you are better than this pettiness.

Yes, the majority of us are against backyard breeders but attacking them drilling them, and chasing them away is never going to change anything. Learn how to use your knowledge and experience. Education is key and hopefully those with the background will get off their soapbox and learn how to be educators.
