Meet Ringo! He's a real sweet young dog. He walks well on the leash, he's real cuddly, and he sits on command.

Meet Bessie, the hound mix. She's a very active pup, very happy and very playful!

Meet Yoyo the cocker! Yoyo is a nice guy, kinda silly, but no kids under 10 please.

Yoyo is also a champion digger, and I have video proof. I have no idea what was under the ground that he was trying to get to, but his pouncing is very cute.

Two pics of my buddy Norris. He's disgusting, he's a brat, and yet I love him.

Meet Grace! She has sort of a sad tale to tell. She was found guarding the dead body of her owner in the forest somewhere and taken to Franklin County Animal Control (which I believe is in West VA) where FOHA pulled her when her time was up (and no I don't know more of this story than that atm). Grace is beautiful. She is very sweet and cuddly, walks well on a leash, and definitely has a silly side. She also has a favorite pink stuffy that she sleeps with in her dog bed at FOHA. It is very adorable.

Grace's paperwork says she's 7 years old, but I think her teeth are awfully white for 7.

Meet Dixie the cattle dog mix! She is a very good, very well-behaved dog.

Meet Bodie! He was surrendered to a shelter by his owner who just didn't want him anymore. He is the sweetest pomeranian mix you'll ever meet (except for my roomie's dog Miles, of course). He had me wrapped around his little paw from the start. I didn't even get mad at him for stealing a treat from my pocket. How can you get mad at this face??

Stolen treats are the best kind.

Meet Shalimar! I think she's what a shar pei/catahoula mix looks like. She's a two year old dog, and very sweet and calm and good on the leash. She also likes to be hugged, and actually asked for one by putting herself gently in my arms.

Meet Mandy! She's the cutest, sweetest, bestest shep/lab/who knows mix pup there ever was! Whoever adopts her will die of the cute every single day! Mandy is just the right amount of playful and just the right amount of chill when she needs to be. She's mostly good, but look in her eyes and you can see there is mischief in there somewhere!

"Ok, how long do I have to stay tied to this tree?"

"For srs lady."

"Well, at least rub my belly."

Meet Dale! He's a nice guy, but really STRONG on the leash. He desperately needs leash manners! I'm pretty sure he's not a purebred lab. He's BIG and his bone structure is that of a large breed dog, not a lab IMO. His personality reminds me of a dog FOHA had before, named Booga. Just big and silly and sweet.

Meet Phineas! He's a happy guy, loves people, loves to have fun, and he loves food!

And last but certainly not least, meet Gunther! Gunther is best described as a teddy bear. He will sit and give you his paw and look deep into your eyes until you can help but love him and cuddle him and dote upon him. Gunther walks well on the leash and he has a heart of gold.

That's all, folks! :D

Oh wow, what a heartbreakingly great looking group of dogs. Every single one of them.

Grace . . . what a good girl. She surely deserved better than to wind up in a shelter, but so do they all. I hope they find their perfect homes soon.

That shot of Dale from the side, his coat almost looks like their might be a little Rott in the mix somewhere -- probably a lot of other things too, but he's a good, solid looking dog.

They are pretty awesome dogs. :D Working in the boarding kennel is fun, but there's something about handling the dogs at FOHA I really miss a lot of the time.

If my husband wouldn't kill me, I would drive up and take Grace and Dale.

You do a great job describing the dogs and their personalities. Does the shelter use your descriptions? They should!

Can I steal Dixie? I don't think anyone would notice another little heeler around here...
Also, Yoyo seems to fit her name quite well with the way she pounces while digging. She's so adorable. <3
