CJ will be 13 on Sept. 18th. I just got back from the vet where tests are being run. She's a bit jaundice and has enlarged spleen and liver. The vet thinks it's chronic liver disease. Good side is 6 months to a year. Bad side is 2 to 3 months. I don't want to lose her. Please keep her in your prayers. The vet will call me tonight with bloodwork results.

YOu'll be in my best wishes!!

The good news is that almost always, vets and doctors can be wrong with predictions.

THey predicted my counsin to live only a few weeks after being diagnosed with lung and heart disease.. he lived a few YEARS after that!

Definately big (((hugs)))!

The tests came back that her kidney is fine and white blood count. Her one liver enzyme which should be 10 - 100 is 845. Vet sad not aweful aweful but still very bad. He said the biopsy would cost about $500 and would tell us what combination of 10 medications to give her to prolong the inevitable. He said at the most 1 year doing this. If I don't do this, he said she could go fast or slow. She will eventually not want to eat, etc. I gave her the antibiotic as well as Denosyl which was given for her liver and she perked up tonight. I don't want to prolong and see her slowly go down. I'm so upset. I researched Milk Thistle for dogs which has many good things to say when a dog has liver problems. I'm going to get it at the health food store tomorrow. We've decided to try the Milk Thistle and the Denosyl and give her all our love.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Good for you. Give her a kiss in the ear for me and a good back rub. I know she is in good hands and the best heart.
