We are nearing closer and closer to being ready to add another to our home, since I lost my last.

I was just hoping someone, maybe even a Chow-nut like me, could give me some good breeders I can use as a starting point for some things.
I am hoping to go into showing, but that isn't for certain yet.

This is all, as you can tell, still down the road a ways, but we are getting prepared now with the general formalities and such.

Thanks guys!

I would send out a PM to IliamnasQuest. I don't see her post here often anymore, but I think she pops in occasionally. Despite all the bad chow experiences I have had, her posts and stories of hers have made me believe that there are some really nice ones out there;). I think she's about as far away from you as you can be and still be in the US, but she may have some contacts for you.

You can check this place out, they show and say they breed for health and temperament and only breed the best of the best because there is so many unwanted dogs already so I like their over all philosophy. BUT I only see evidence of one dog that is OFA'd and if they don't OFA all their dogs I would not buy from them. So send them an e-mail to find out: http://www.hsotchows.com/aboutus.html

My neighbor has a black chow right next door and he is the sweetest thing ever. I love the breed, I think they are beautiful. Yes, they are naturally aloof with strangers.
