A friend of mine rescued a 5 year old Hairless Chinese Crested and looking for his forever home. He is up to date on shots and neutered. Housetrained for the mopst part but he was used as a stud before she rescued him so he marks sometimes. He needs a special iodine bath at least once a week to keep his skin healthy and allergy-free food. He needs a quiet home with someone that is home most of the time. He gets along with older children 12+, mellow dogs, and cats. Do you have room in your heart for this special guy?

If interested please e-mail me at [email protected]. We would prefer if he stayed in state. Picture available upon request.

por guys skin must be pretty rough to need a regular iodine bath, it tend to be harsh on sensitive skin :(

hope the poor guy finds a good forever home soon!

He has such bad acne from years of neglect that he would do best with it twice a week. Right now we bathe him 3 times a week, twice with exfoliating shampoo and once with the iodine.

poor guy, hope he gets lots of lotion and finds a home where hell never have to worry about that stuff again.

Id hold off on the iodine, its good as an antiseptic but it can actually CAUSE acne...

im going to suggest to you guys, mixing 1/2 a cup of plain yoghurt with about a table spoon of honey (raw if possible), mix well and let it sit (its safe for him to lick/eat), let it sit on his skin as a mask for about 10 mins before rinsing off with cool water, yoghurt will help open up the pours, exfoliate (without the use of any kind of harsh scrubbing agents) and draw out the blackheads, honey is a natural antibacterial agent.
should be yogurt bathed once weekly and youll be amazed at how quickly the skin clears up without having to use harsher exfoliants and chemicals.

iodine is harsh, even on very acne prone skin i wouldnt want to use it that frequently on a crestie, they have thinner and more delicate skin than the other hairless breeds...and again, iodine, while great at disinfecting an area, can Cause breakouts.

you can also try pure witch-hazel as an astringent, just a little pit on a pad and whiped down.

sounds like hes in good hands though and im sure hell find a great home soon.
have you tried listing him via petfinder and craigslist in your area too?!

I will definitely try the yogurt bath! Thank you for the advice :) I haven't listed him on petfinder yet but he keeps getting flagged on craigslist.

*grumbles*

dont put a price or mention of adoption fee in the add, just put contact for more details and that he was rescued from a puppymill and has been vet checked and neutered...

craigslist flaggers drive me crazy sometimes...

you could also try hoobly, and oodle
