Is cheese ok for dogs? My friend says it messes up their sense of smell? Is this true? I was planning on stuffing her small kong with some daily, not a ton and the kong is pretty small.

I have never heard of that before. People often use cheese as a training treat for dogs. I know Hannah LOVES american cheese and I remember when we had Foxy we had to put his heartworm pill in a piece of cheese or else he wouldn't take it.

The "messing up the sense of smell" is an old wives tale.

Cheese is fine to feed, but keep in mind it's fairly high in calories - just one ounce of regular cheddar cheese has around 120 calories, so use it very sparingly.

Cottage cheese or yogurt frozen in the Kong would be better. :)
