No puppy for me in the foreseeable future, so I shall have to live vicariously through others. There's a possibility that Squash's mother could be bred to an absolutely amazing male Alaskan in the next 1-2 years and I shall need every ounce of self control to resist applying for a puppy.

We need more puppy talk!

So, what sex are those getting a puppy hoping for? Are you set on that gender or willing to comprise or just going by which puppy the breeder thinks is best?
Female, YES and no.
Breeder knows I am totally set on sex, Hoping for the color I want but am willing to compromise on that. Still hoping for a brown one. I should know a bit more which way she is leaning towards in the next few weeks. I would be getting the puppy the breeder would keep for herself. So fingers crossed its the brown one.

I'm looking to get a male. Honestly, just a male dog person more myself. I could settle for a female, but yes, would much more prefer male. ;)

I'm proud of myself --
I had/have the opportunity to get this little guy (not my pic)

But I'm bound and determined to not get a random pup on a whim and wait it out until I can get what I want. Some days it's so hard though!!!

I'm so excited for everyone getting pups this year!!
Hahaha! I know what you mean. I'm trying not to get puppy, adult, or senior on whim. It doesn't help when my best friend and I always are looking on Petfinder and other rehome sites though! :p

I better end up with a puppy sometime soon!

I want another dobe and husband is kinda of looking for a cardigan corgi.

I am scared to get in touch with more breeders since not hearig back from #1 dobe choice so may end up fostering or getting whatever falls in my lap. Vet thinks gizzy could have a couple months so no huge rush but I know once she is gone I will need another pup!

I'm getting a female but letting the breeder make the final choice! :)
Wait. Does that mean you are definitely getting a female, which one is left up to the breeder?
Or you would like a female but if the breeder chooses a male you will take a male?

Oh I definitely want a female, and the breeder will choose the female pup based on temperament. :p

I'm VERY excited to start Ibizan Hound Puppy Watch thread #2 next summer! :)

Parents will be Fenix X Poison, who just so happens to be the sister of Bentley which is the pup I got back in Feb. 2010 (see original Ibizan Hound Puppy Watch thread in breeding forum)

Here's the two lovebirds. Fenix on the left and Poison on the right:

Hoping the breeding takes with lots of baby girls to choose from!
