Dizzy you win for best announcement pic. I especially like that your girl dog is reading What To Expect and your sporting breed boy is reading a baby "manual". :rofl1:

I want to work part time and be at home part time. I think that would be perfect for me. Unfortunately, daycare costs destroy that little fantasy.

I'm soooo lucky to have this arrangement, even though it sucks financially.

I work Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30-2:00 and Saturdays from 8:00-3:00. Ev is at a great home daycare during the week where she gets to do way more fun stuff than we did at home, she gets to play with other kids and then I get to pick her up after nap time. Then my husband watches her on Saturday.

I might be extending my hours a bit at the end of July for money reasons though. Boooo!

I know most of you all breastfed, but did anyone have experience switching the child to whole milk (at 1) or any other milk, and have them lose interest in eating and want the bottle more?

I've noticed a slightly decreased appetite from Lil (still eating, but less than usual), but she still seems hungry, just disinterested in what she's offered (usually 2-3 choices and she typically eats all I offer her) but now after only eating a little she's extremely fussy/cranky until I give her a bottle of milk (water in a bottle OR milk in a cup won't do it).

On formula, she was drinking 24 oz a day, only taking bottles before naps, bedtime, and upon waking in the AM. Now she's whining or even crying for a bottle between naps, I think she just really likes the milk!

Any tips? I tried decreasing the amount per bottle so I could give her another, but she wants more after finishing one. Should I just hold firm and hope it passes?

Up until 1 food is really just for fun. So at 1 I still dont expect it to be a huge part of their actual diet...I know at 1 my daughter was still nursing for probably 75-85% of her diet...and that sometimes would go up or down even more. My son really liked food so ate more at that age.

I would guess possible growth spurt OR just because its new she is more into it. I try really hard to not make any battles about food at this age so personally I think I would let it go for a bit to see if it wanes on its own...and if not work on more distractions or limits? I dont really know though since I didnt switch to milk ever.

I did Milo. The girls really stopped eating when we went to milk at a little before one. I is a thicker liquid and is more filling is what i Hypothesized ( if i am right who knows but makes sense to me) . In order for them to actually EAT I had to get rid of the bottle for anything but before bed. None at nap and none any other time. If they had a bottle during the day (cause I caved to them demanding one) then the would not eat dinner and would wake during the night for another bottle.
If I stuck to my guns and NO BOTTLE during the day , then they ate and slept properly.

IME MM, that's pretty normal. We switched Falon from breastmilk to cow milk during the day a little after 1 year. She still goes back and forth between eating massive amounts of solid food and drinking massive amounts of milk.

Unless she's underweight I would try not to worry about it (I know it's hard!). When Falon is teething she will straight up refuse to eat. I think the rubbery bits of bottles/sippy cups feel good on her gums? I don't know, but I bet Lillian evens out soon.

I had another ultrasound this week and I'm measuring right on track at 10 weeks (well, 10+2 days today). Sprout was flailing its little arm and leg nubs around and turning. It was so cute. I "graduated" from the specialist to my general obgyn. When I scheduled my first appointment with him, the nurse told me I wouldn't get another ultrasound until 20 weeks :(:yikes::mad: I'll talk to him and see if I can come in for one at least around 12 or 14 weeks... He's pretty nice, so I'm hoping he'll work with me.

Other than that, all is going well. I get nauseous from time to time, and certain foods are iffy (I tried to be good and eat some fried eggs this weekend. It was so difficult to get them down and I started crying while eating, which then made me laugh) but haven't thrown up much.

We planned a trip to see my parents after July 4th and plan on telling them then. I'm having major anxiety about that, not sure why. I think because I was pretty "cool" about the idea of having kids simply because I thought we'd never be able to have one. So it's not like they are waiting for a grandchild. It'll be something completely unexpected for them and keeping it a secret for so long now almost has a dirty secret feel to it.

Also, I have quite the amount of ovulation pee stick indicators (whatever you call them, lol) left.... Does anybody want them? They are all individually wrapped.

Has anyone heard from Jesse?

That's awesome news! It's such a relief to continue to see your little bean growing and wiggling! Are you planning on getting a doppler to hear the heartbeat with at home? I've used mine from about 10 weeks until I started feeling consistent movements... it's been a really good piece of mind. You can get a decent one for less than $50.

Your nausea should hopefully get better soon! My morning sickness was gone by 13-14 weeks :)

I'm still waiting... 37w5d today! I'm hoping she'll come next week ;) We have the nursery almost done (even though she'll be sleeping in our room for the first ~6 months) and we have almost everything we need. I'm going to have my bag packed for the birthing center tonight after I get the rest of the things I need.

It's all starting to feel real :yikes:

Being pregnant in Vegas is pretty depressing lol :lol-sign:

But I'm still so happy :) the tiredness, bloating/trapped wind, inability to drink or do anything remotely exciting and constant blocked nose is worth it!

And baby's heart sounds more like a proper little heart now :D and we have graduated to lemon side as of yesterday!

Jess, I can't even imagine being close to birth. I still don't feel pregnant a lot of the time (those symptoms aside, but that could be a cold!!)!

Jules - you had sex!!! That's why you can't tell them :rofl1:

That's how I felt being pregnant while in Key West last month! We went there for our "baby moon" and although I had a fantastic time without drinking, it definitely would've been more fun if I could have partaken! Also, we walked 3-5 miles a day and I was sooo tired by the end of each night. I hope you're having a great time out West!

I really can't believe I'm so close to birth! My bag is packed except for what Nora and I will be wearing home :D

Is anyone else planning on using cloth diapers?

I've almost finished compiling my newborn stash. We wanted to get ~12 in random brands to see what we like best, and then will order about 6 more a couple of days after Nora is born. I've bought Bumgenius, Thirsties, Fuzzibunz, GroVia, and Rumparooz Lil Joeys.

Once she grows out of the newborn sizes, we'll be using the bigger all in ones and pocket diapers. Right now we have about ~10 Bumgenius Freetimes, but I want to get some other random ones as well to figure out what we like best.

At first I was nervous about cloth diapering, but I feel fairly confident now. We have the sprayer hooked up to the toilet and I'm just waiting on my cloth diaper detergent and diaper pail. We have newborn disposables at home for the first few days (don't want any meconium getting in her pretty brand new diapers!).

We are. Friend on ours does with good results, and we have worked out it's probably a good investment in the long run. Plus landfills. Plus they're SO CUTE!

I am! I'm hoping to score some off local friends whose kids will be outgrowing theirs around the time we need them. ;) I think the first few weeks we'll use Seventh Generation or Honest disposables for simplicity's sake, then switch to cloth. I know of a couple places locally that have a "try before you buy" type program, so i hope to use that to determine what brand(s) work best.

try before you buy would be so ideal. I had mentioned to Brian that IF we do get pregnant, cloth diapers might be the way to go this time. bigger investment up front but less money than disposables. I worry about my ability to keep up with the wash though LOL. I HATE laundry and as it is now I only do laundry once a week :p

I don't think it happened this month. I won't know for sure for another week whether my monthly comes or not but I don't have any symptoms and I'm pretty sure I was barfing by this time last time lol.

A lot of cloth diaper companies have great return policies actually! And, the resale value of cloth diapers is amazing. There are cloth diaper resale sites and they sell VERY quickly it seems.

I'm really looking forward to not spending money on trash. The idea of spending thousands of dollars for disposables over Nora's lifetime isn't appealing at all.

I hate doing laundry as well, but I figure it will be easier since I'll be home. Every day I'll just make sure to do a load of diapers. This is one thing that worried me, but at least I'll never have to worry about running to the grocery store at midnight for diapers because I didn't realize I ran out!
