Does anyone have good scientific based articles or studies on BLW? It sounds good to me, but I haven't really found any legitimate studies on it's benefits.
Not exactly on BLW, but on the dangers of introducing solids too soon, here's a transcript from an NPR discussion that does mention a CDC study: http://www.npr.org/2013/03/25/17529...s-health-by-feeding-them-solid-food-too-early

And here's another NPR piece on the benefits to kids feeding themselves. Also mentions a study: http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/20...bies-may-eat-better-when-they-feed-themselves

That's amazing Mm! Clarissa will stand if I hold onto her hands now but she's 7.5 months. She's also got a great army crawl down and is exploring the living room at her leisure. She loves it.

I've been delaying solids as she seems to have a pretty sensitive tummy and has since birth. I tried a bit of BLW about a month ago but she was gagging a lot and it freaked us out lol. She had a hard time digesting the avocado which is supposed to be one of the easier things to digest. So we took a break. Going to try again soon with some puréed foods and then try BLW again (after my infant CPR refresher next week!)

Here is miss crawly pants:

Katie is going through a stage. If I get her in trouble for something she tells me I hate her. So I explain to her why she's in trouble and she tells me I don't like her. Other than that she is a sweet polite little girl. I really hate this.

I'm sorry :)

I don't know if this will help at all but when Hannah is in trouble she frets saying "are you mad at me? I'm sorry... Don't be mad with me" and I sit her
Down and tell her that I love her but I am disappointed in her behavior. Nit even mad... Just disappointed because I know that you know better. Then she serves out the punishment.

Jenn, I'm sorry...that sounds really hard, but it also sounds like a normal part of development. She's realizing her behaviors affect how people feel about her and that how she acts makes up who she is. I would try to be understanding of her insecurities by saying things like: "I know it feels bad when I'm upset with your choices, but it doesn't mean that I don't love you."

If she says "you hate me", say "that is not true, I love you very much, but since I'm your mom, I have to enforce the rules. I'm sorry that it's hard for you to see how much I love you when I'm upset with your actions, but you still need to deal with the consequences."

I'd also cut the word hate out of your vocab completely...not even "I hate when that happens" or "I hate liver and onions" or anything like that.

Ok, I need serious calming down vibes right now:

I keep thinking I might be pregnant, and I'm so freaked out.

Logically, there is a very, very, VERY slim-none chance of me being pregnant.

I'm getting nausea every time I eat. I've experienced this a few times in the past, usually due to stress/anxiety...I don't feel that stressed or anxious, though.

I'm also getting heartburn. The only time I ever had heartburn in my whole life was when I was pregnant with Lillian.

I'm tired, too...I just don't feel that well. But I'm sleep deprived with an infant. SOOOOOO.

I started my last period on Sept 11, but they've been 5-6 weeks apart since Lillian. I have no period symptoms, but I've only had mild cramps like the day before since I had her, and I wouldn't get it for another week or so if I stick with the same pattern. Plus, if I was pregnant, I think it'd be too early to test, so taking a test just to get the negative wouldn't give me piece of mind yet.

I really, really, really, really do not have the ability to care for another kid right now. The sacrifices I'd have to make would just be way more than I'd be comfortable with. We just applied for private health insurance for Lilly, which will mean we'll be on zero kind of public assistance, and we're hoping to move next year. I'm supposed to go back to school FT in January.

Send me a LOT of not pregnant vibes.

Sent MM! I'm super super paranoid since my period hasn't returned yet. I keep thinking I could be pregnant and not know it!

(Granted, the lack of sex since we bed share IS great birth control...so this is an unlikely scenario. But I suck at remembering to take my pill on time.)

Thanks everyone. I'm not feeling any better since last night my hips and legs were so sore, which was my first and only symptom with my last pregnancy. Logically I really don't think it's likely I am, but I'm seriously starting to think maybe. Ugh. I'll consider my period late Thursday.

No...since my period isn't even due yet, a negative test won't make me feel any better...and if I am I can wait a week to know for sure lol

Have you tried leaving on some music to cover up the noise from outside? That seems to help Milo quite a bit.

Until Milo was about 6, we'd have to literally "put him down for a nap". And keep redirecting him to his bed or crate him, cover the crate, keep very quiet in the house, etc. he wouldn't rest unless all was quiet and calm.

He mellowed out around 6-7 years old, if that gives you hope

Here is our attempt at an unprofessional thanksgiving photo shoot. My apologies for those of you who have seen these on Facebook already:

Has anyone come across a good sls free and tear free baby shampoo? Winnie had reacted badly to every shampoo we've ever tried except for mine which is sls free, but it's not tear free, unfortunately.

we've been using Burt's bees baby shampoo and wash. It's SLS free and is working well for us!

Taq- Falon looks like Matt!

I'm not pregnant, which is very very good news (but leaves me wondering why I'm so nauseous and sore).

I used to use Yes to Baby Carrots for Clive, until the one store that carried it didn't carry it anymore.
