My friend just noticed this thread.

I've only met two, so I don't have much to offer, but both of them were incredibly sweet to everybody and very in tune with their owners...../

/......Overall in my albeit limited experience, they're gentle, listen quite well, and while they're bright, cheery little dogs, they're also kind of low-key in what level of exercise they need.
Honestly, I'm considering a CKCS for when I need a dog who's a bit less intense than say, Fable. :p
My friend has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lotta, who is two years old. We thought that we would tell you what kind of dog Lotta is. She doesn't always react to speach. So, she might not notice that one is saying something. Lotta often acts silly. Lotta does it also when she is been trained. There are different kind of reasons she is acting silly. One of them is that Lotta is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. That's why Lotta does it also when she is not been trained. Lotta is generally that kind of dog that behaves that way. So, she is a silly dog.

Are there also other users that have Cavaliers here? If so, do they behave also this way?

We had once written in this thread and told about this: Lotta doesn't always react to speach. So, she may not notice that one is saying something. My friend has noticed that also other Cavaliers are silly.

We asked if there were also other users that had Cavaliers here. If so, do their dogs behave also the same ways than Lotta does?

I have friends who breed them, and holy cow am I in love with their dogs. They are sweet as sugar with people; all their dogs, including their intact ones, can be loose together; none are reactive to outside dogs that I've seen. They run agility with several of their dogs, and are very competitive in their height classes, but they are very willing to admit that snuggling on the couch is pretty much what their dogs like best.
Also Lotta is very nice and sweet. She loves to cuddle with everyone :p She likes people so much. Lotta always goes to everyone and ask for attention. She also licks people :D

So, Cavaliers should not be aggressive or nervous etc. We had told in other thread that Lotta growls when my friend is putting the harness on her. One of you may have thought that when Lotta is growling when my friend is putting the harness on, she would be doing it because she would be anxious. My friend is not sure if that is what s/he really thought but if it is, that's not the reason Lotta is growling. She growls since she behaves like a toddler that is in defiant stage.

About growling: This is not only about Lotta but we had recently heard that Cavaliers like to make a scene and tell you loud and clearly when they want something (or doesn't want something to be done). My friend had found these videos about it:

Cavaliers are not always that loud though. They may bark or growl also when they are playing:

As you can see, Cavaliers are noisy. They bark or growl also when they are not asking anything.
