Cat person?

What is a normal cat that you speak of? Mine are all characters!

IDK, one that isn't a evil bitch and the only one she doesn't attack is the toddler? Or one who isn't mentally handicapped? lol

Honestly we have had Sammy on meds to make her less mean, right now she is on a steady supply of cat nip and pheromones that plug into the wall. If you walk buy her she attacks, you pet her she attacks. If she wants attention she jumps up allows you to pet her, then attacks you before leaving. Im not a fan of her, but she loves Katelynne

Paper is the young cat and he is a Siamese Ragdoll mix, and it's like the two breed have a constant I thermal battle over weather he should be purring and enjoying being pet, or attacking you at every turn! And hands down the noisiest animal we own, he is constantly meowing. Casper will meow for food and water, Paper just runs around yowling every minute he is awake it seems. But he loves the boy, lets him do anything to him, and he is the only cat I know who will walk around in clothes.

Casper is normal, except he is seems to want to make the Guinness book of worlds records for oldest cat.

I think I'm a converted cat person. I've always loved cats, but was never allowed one until I was 13, when I found a stray and started keeping it in the shed. My Mum loved cats, it was my Dad who said no, so when she found out she said just to keep it quiet! When he eventually found out, he said it could stay as long as it stayed in the shed (the dogs we had at the time would have no doubt killed him). That was was Meeko, a tabby, and he died just 2 months after we got him, hit by a card This was Meeko...

Sometimes I wish I was a cat person lol it would honestly be so much easier. I have met people who go on vacation and just leave timed food/water dishes and leave!

but so much of my bond with dogs is doing things out and about with them.. walking, running, days at the park, dog parks etc.. I really don't think I'm actually home enough to enjoy a cat really.

That and anytime I even consider cats I get caught on the litter box thing.
I have housesat for homes with cats, and the process of cleaning a litterbox triggers my gag reflex.
not to mention my tiny studio would be stunk up by it pretty quickly lol (I leave really early and am not home until early evening, so if kitty goes anytime after 7am.. it is sitting there until like 6)

I never understood the "well you poop inside" thing when talking about litterboxes honestly :rofl1: Yea, I poop inside, in a toilet with blue water in it's own little room that flushes right after I go.. it doesn't sit in a box of sand in my studio all day.

I would totally have a cat if
- I lived in a bigger apartment. As it is, Merlin would not give the cat room the breath
- If it learned to use the toilet, or was indoor/outdoor
- It had a friend or was content being alone a lot of the time. Like was just old and surly and didn't care :rofl1:

See I'd much rather clean a litter box than go outside and clean up dog poop lol. As long as it doesn't smell, which ours doesn't.

But I have caged animals as well, so that whole pooping inside thing is never something that that has struck me as weird or gross.

I loovveee cats. My favorite are inquisitive, mischievous, annoying and turn into a limp purring sack of glue when you pick them up. I love watching them explore, I love watching their athletics, I love cuddling them (when they're relaxed I think they're more flexible than a dog which enhances the experience), I love their 1,000 unique expressions of annoyance, fear and superiority. I love their "suck itt" attitudes and how they become a part of your home.

I've never had an indoor-only cat and I'd rather not... but I won't say never, even if I do hate litterboxes (I don't think cats like them much either lol).

As far as animals crapping in the house... it depends. I'm not bothered by the minute shits of my geckos, fish-shits, or the tiny bone-dry gerbil craps. I wouldn't mind having a couple of canaries or Gouldian finches indoors either.

I don't know if I'll keep a rabbit inside again though (I have this fantasy about having one allowed inside in the summer months, so the doors are open and it can go crap in a flowerbed or something). Something like a monitor lizard, I would only keep in a greenhouse.

Oh we have two litter robots, my fat assed cat can't fit in them anymore so I had to stop using them, IF you have small cats I HIGHLY recommend them if you can splurge on them. I got them both on kijiji for like 100 bucks each tough, they reall are fantastic, and the drawer is way big, and has slots for bags so its very easy to keep clean, and the company sells every single part separately so if one does break you can just buy the part not a whole new machine.

Yes I was surprised (by watching My Cat from Hell) that cats can be surprisingly challenging to own & they can have their own set ofbehavorial problems just like dogs can ... the only problem is I usually understand what motivates a dog, but cats are harder to get.

it also seems that dogs are very ... greatful for the care & what not you give them... with cats (though this may not be true) it seems like they only care about what you can do for them & not ABOUT you... i dont know.
