I was wondering if she meant a Canaan Dog!!

I have a wonderful Canaan Dog mix named Colby Cheeshead. Canaan Dogs come Israel, where they guard livestock. Canaan's come in black and white and tan and white. The ears are straight-up, the tail should curl at the tip. They weigh around 50 lbs..
The breed is very sweet and loving, very protective of their family. The breed does not get along well with strangers. Most Canaans get along well with other dogs, and they love small kids.
They are very agile and quick, most can clear anything. They are highly trainable, they are very intelligent. Canaans require lots of exercise, and lack of exercise will definitely show (probably on the new couch).

Here's the Cheesedog :). I'll see if I can get a full-body pic. This one looks kind of weird. If you have any more questions, just lemme know!

I don't think she meant she's getting one, she said she thought about it before Walker. And she prob will be helping show them this summer. But anyways, you can still learn bout'em. Sorry to bud in.

Thanks :). I think I might've seen a purebred in person once....we were riding bikes and saw what looked like a Canaan Dog puppy. My sister asked, but the owner said it's a mutt...who knows though, many people don't know what a Canaan Dog is.

I absolutely ADORE Canaan dogs, because they are notoriously difficult to train. I love a challenge above all. And I also adore the "Oodle-oodle-oodle-ooooooo!" noise. Anyone who has had a Canaan dog knows the noise I mean!

Here's a better picture of Colby (my sister was hugging her). The other one looks too weird, lol. Her ears do not go straight up, they're floppy-ish (she's got some terrier in her).

CT--Colby does sort of have an oodle sound. It's really low in pitch. Tippy, my Border Collie mix (in my sig), has a little woowoowoo.

Gaddylovesdogs, that was a HUGE pic. could you possibly down size it??

The Cannan dog is Alert, vigilant, devoted and docile with his family. Reserved and aloof with strangers. Highly territorial, serving as a responsive companion and natural guardian. Very vocal, persistent. Easily trained. Faults--Shyness or dominance toward people.

I apologize for the size of the picture...it is gigantic. There's no edit button so I can't downsize it :(.

Thanks guys :). Cheesey is my big baby. Her guarding ability is amazing....most people, despite the fact that she's only about fifty pounds, many people are a little weary of her when they first meet her. One time, we had a guest over, and Colby guarded her. She wouldn't even let her get up for water! Silly dog.
