maybe now I can understand why people are convinced Whiskey is a Dingo' having it in his ancestory he favors the Dingo side very much. Now you all know why I accuse him of being " THAT DARNRD DINGO

Aww, he is a darling! I really like the look, it reminds me a lot of the carolina dogs around here. Also, I think ACDs look much better without cropped tails because so many of them get those great dingo brushes.

Whiskey had a tail but when we rescued him it was so badly broken and for who knows how long it had to be amputated. Most of the ACDs I have owned we natural bob. Tail on tail off I love them to pieces.

ACDs don't have a natural bob tail (nor are they/should they be docked...ever -not refering to Whiskey of course...that had to be done-), that's Stumpy Tailed Cattle dogs...completely different breed.

Whiskey is gorgeous. :) My cousin had a Red Cattle dog called Munya...such a beauty she was. The reds are my favourites. Don't see as many of them down here as you do the blues though, which is a shame. The blues are everywhere. lol

ty and yes we think he is a looker. Might just be bias though lol. Really you have blues mainly ? Here in the western U.S seems to be reds but have lots of blue to. We had a light blue that was a reg. heeler with bob tail hummmm this is intresting. Maybe we Yanks can't get that right either lol. I will have to post a pic of him and maybe you can tell. I am just now hearing of the stumpy tail last couple of weeks. Very intresting.

I see it a little bit next to a pure dingo ;) Don't forget though Aus there are 3 other breeds in them that helped contribute to the breed. Bull terrier being one of them and I definately see that in my boy....he's built like a tank :D Red ACD's are very uncommon in New England and if you do see them you see the blues. I have been asked if Caiza is a dingo on many occassions and a coyote :lol-sign:

Yes blues are the most common in Australia, but there are a lot of reds...just don't see them as much.
Stumpy Tailed Cattle dogs are a gorgeous breed. Lighter in build than the ACDs but similar (not the same) in appearence.

Yup, and apart from a slight similarity in looks they're actually nothing like dingoes at all. ;) Doesn't make them any less wonderful though. Just wish I had the energy to keep up with one. lol
