I have to keep this short since I'm out to lunch with Josh.

I found a lump on Bamm's throat. It's hard to the touch so I don't think its a fatty lump. It doesn't seem to hurt him when I apply pressure, but I don't know what it is. My thoughts are possibly a cyst or tumor? I am just crossing my fingers that if that is the case that it is benign. My other thought is maybe a bee sting reaction? I had him outside yesterday so I could trim his nails and trim the hairs on his feet. It was so nice outside which is why I did it outside. I did notice a bee flying around us a little bit when I was messing with his feet, but I don't recall seeing it sting him at all.

Vibes please?

Snipe had a funky bump on her throat a month or so ago - we think it was a tick bite. It scabbed up a bit and went away after about 4-6 weeks. Hopefully it's something as equally simple for Bamm!

We recently found a large lump on the side of Ruby's neck and took her to the vet. It ended up being an abscess (thank god). They did a fine needle aspirate and discovered pus, they lanced it and cleaned it and put a drain in it. She's good as new!!
Is there any way Bamm could have gotten bit by another dog or cat??
I hope it's nothing serious! Good luck :)

Thank you so much. I'm calling my vet today to talk to them about it and see how soon we can get him in. As soon as I found it my mind went to the worst possible scenario... cancer. I just hope that it is something simple. Until I find out what is going on I'm kind of holding my breath a bit.

Mindy also had a bump that disappeared the day of her vets appointment!! Being older we panicked and the C word was first in our thoughts as well..

(((((((Vibes))))))) that Bamm is as cooperative or for a minor cyst etc....

That's what we thought about Ruby when we found the lump. Cancer is the scariest word...
There are MANY different causes for lumps. Hopefully it's nothing at all!

How old is Bamm?

I am a neurotic mess about lumps, but most of them are *not* cancer.
