Any cheap premium dog foods? Yes, the dogs are Pedigree, yuck! They look like mangy dogs who look like zombies. I am calmy trying to convince them still. That we will be feeding less on a higher quality food. Anywho, Maybe Taste of the Wild, but then it says your dogs poop a lot, and get the runs after a while. I don't know! And you guys know how Labs are. Eating machines. Thanks for all of your help Chazzers in advanced! ;)

Healthwise might be a good option for you. It's made by natura (who makes Innova) but it's their "economy" version. Not as great as Innova, but still a quality food, at a fraction of the price.

IME it varies depending on where you are. Canidae is the cheapest here but it's not as cheap for other people. You might want to call a few stores and price-check to find out what will be cheapest for you!

California Natural isn't too bad. It's one of the most inexpensive I can find here, anyway. Then there's always Kirkland Signature if you have a Costco near you. It's not premium, but loads better than Pedigree. Winston's on Kirkland and doing well. His coat has deteriorated a bit, but otherwise, he's doing better on it than he has anything else aside from the old Canidae.

I've got my dogs on Kirkland and they do pretty well on it. It's $22 for a 40lb bag from Costco...it's Diamond Naturals under the private Kirkland label, so if you can find a store selling Diamond Naturals, it's about the same thing for the same price from what I hear.

Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice is $26 for 40 lbs. at Tractor Supply. Mine love it.

Kirkland from Costco. And here, it is cheaper than the Diamond Natural. Of course, you have to be a member. Good luck.

My dogs have been on TOTW for a while and they have never had diarrhea. We started feeding it in January, I think...so almost a year

Is NutriSource a good one? It is cheaper than the Taste of the wild.

Nutrisource is just fine - and it's a lot better than Pedigree.

Oh yes, I so agree. lol Buy a 20 lb bag of TotW is a start! Maybe I can convince them! Cause that 20 lb bag of Pedigree went by in a week! 2 weeks is so much better than 1 with the gas going bye bye, and shiny coat coming back. Hopefully/more than likely.

I picked up a 40lbs of the Diamond Naturals L/R to give a go here....$28 for the bag at TSC...our local feed store has it about the same so if it agrees with all we'll be going that route next purchase.

Unless Nutrisourse has recently changed its formula it has menadione in it. I was feeding that food and was told about it. So I switched.

I feed Premium Edge Lamb and Rice formula now. I'm pretty happy with it. It's reasonably priced also.

    I feed Kirklan Signature.

Do you free feed? If they are going through food so fast, it sounds like they are free fed. (Not saying anything bad about it, mine are free fed. But they eat when they are hungry, and food lasts a while around here).

Another Diamond Naturals buyer here. Get it at Tractor supply for 27.99/40 lbs. They also still get their cooked mixed in, but they seem to be doing well with the Diamond Natural.

I feed my guys Blue Buffalo. I get it at petsmart, and I don't think it's that pricey. My 50lb foster only eats 3 cups of food on this food - shiney coats, good poop, no gas.
Casey's been on it for 1 1/2 years now I think. No problems at all =]
