Got a new dog yesterday and he needs a name. My other dog is Peyton but she's called by the name "pate".

    He's a 1 year old white/Red Border Collie.

I'm leaning towards the name Dallan.

    What would you name him?

So your calling your dog blind? :rofl1:

Mod feel free to delete this as I tried to because of my second post is more appropriate and I can't find a way to delete it myself

I still think Harley is more appropriate

Aren't Border Collies an origination from England?. Didn't they work in meadows herding sheep?

I love the name Dallen, it is different and interesting. It is also quite masculine. He is a really beefy, manly looking dog. He is gorgeous!

Guess the lady that thought it was a devil's gaze never heard of blue dog. THat gaze brought the artist a great deal of success.

    Gorgeous dog!!

I don't know, the last part of Dallan has the same sound as Peyton (-an, -on), I think I would choose a name that has a different ending, personally. But hey, it's your dog. :)

    I should get royalties!

I haven't seen any devil eye in him, now I'm sure if he was angry those eyes may look a little different from the business end. He's just a great big fluffy puppy at heart. Sweet gentle and sensitive. He'd be a lap dog if you would let him.

Smkie knows the back story on this dog for those who don't They were going to put the dog down because some nut case at the dog pound said he had the "Devil in his eyes."

    I like Jax as well.

I doubt I'd ever actually use this name myself, but the name Diablo had crossed my mind just because of the story with his eyes.

I like Dallan, despite the meaning.

He looks like a Killian. The awesome part is I looked it up after thinking that, and it means "church", and he was a saint. :p

I don't either..I see a bright eager, interesting dog. Dogs have suffered enough with the devil attachment.

    I also like Jax.

It could be Eli if you're a fan of the Manning family (football).

I called my first dog CD. She was a Cattle Dog.

She was always CD but over time, it could have stood for City Dog, Country Dog, Cowardly Dog, Cool Dog, Cool Dude and even derogatory terms.

Her name was adjustable according to the circumstances.

Killian sounds good, but its a little long and doesn't shorten up very well. And then there's Killians Irish Red!

Which I think is pretty cool too
