Last Friday I mailed out a bunch of resumes to vet clinics in the area, hoping I'd get lucky and get a response, even though none of them were advertising that they were hiring. Right away on Monday I got a call from one wanting to set up an interview. SWEET I thought. It's a nice, relatively new building with up-to-date technology and seemed like it'd be a great place to work and get experience at... so needless to say I was excited about the opportunity. They called me today and basically said, nevermind, we actually decided we'd rather hire someone with more experience so let's just cancel your interview. kthxbai. I'm so bummed!!! I mean, I'm glad they canceled it if they KNOW they want more experience--I don't want to interview with people who have no intention of hiring me. Plus now I at least have my afternoon free tomorrow. But it was feeling like the stars were aligning for me and it sucks to have the opportunity dangled in front of me, and then taken away before they even get a chance to meet me. I could be AWESOME!! All I do is rant about jobs these days, I sowwy.
