Monkey, I know of an oops Malinois/Sibe litter and last I heard, there was one or two left. Mom is out of sled lines, dad is a working bred Malinois. Interested? :)
Very. Want to say yes very, very badly... but really should not! :)
I'm going to shoot myself for asking, but what did the pups come out looking like? And how balanced are they thus far?

Oh and also would it be suitable drive-wise for FR? Because that's what I want to train my next permanent addition in. Which I figured would be like 3-5yrs out because of the purchase price of a well bred dog. I should not be asking for details because oh not grand time for a third permanent one, but man what a combo. Though summer is coming and my work hrs will be much shorter... Ack, must say no!

I don't know about ring. The one person that I know who got one requested one of the drivier ones, and she's mentioned that she wished she had more.

They seem to favor Malinois in appearance. They varied from typical fawn/black to like a slate grey/brown with black mask and overlay.

Why Ot Vitosha?

To the OP, I think that a GSP would be a good fit. They are every other dog around here. Hardy dogs with generally good dispositions. A lot of people keep them as outdoor dogs (which I think is a crime in Iowa winters) so they much be pretty tolerant of temperature extremes.

I do think that the right Malinois could be a good match, and echo the others with checking out breed rescue. The breed does vary a lot in temperament. My last Malinois had no off switch and was quite intolerant of people and animals outside the immediate family. My new pup so far seems quite social and sensible.
The reason I suggested ruling a Mal out was because Lyzelle said GSDs weren't on the list because of the wide range of temperaments, need for hardcore research to find what you're looking for and temperament tendencies that weren't appealing. It sounded like if those things made a GSD unsuitable, they'd make Belgians unsuitable too. I think the right GSD or Mal could definitely work but they both have similar tendencies and requirements in many ways. But yeah, not all Mals are going to be unreasonable, crazy, weird, biters without off switches LOL

I should probably wait and just get a mal for what I want really. It makes the most sense. Sounds like a neat combo though! :)

I have to say, Dantero is just about top on my prospective mal breeder list. I haven't talked to Kady at all or initiated contact yet because its several years out (this reason is all monetary) and I shouldn't rush this. On the other hand, I do currently have a really good TD and who knows what will change in that respect over the next few years. Anywho, since you had Harry I wouldn't mind hearing what you thought about living with one of her dogs. :)

I think these are all good things to consider! :)

We have another Dantero dog who trains with us from time to time (she's 1.5 hours out in the desert). She's shaping up to be a lot of dog, edgy, drivey, nice but not ideal for most people.
