Scooter is 7 months old now. His mom, I am told, was a Beagle/Sheltie mix. I did meet her when I adopted Scooter and I'd have to agree. She was about 15-20 pounds, Beagle coloring and size (stocky, long body, Beagle face) with Sheltie ears and fur length. They had no clue what the dad was, but the child that was there told me they saw a black and tan, knee height, dog running with the mom. Scooter currently weighs about 30 pounds I'd say. He had lost a lot of weight when he was sick and he's working on gaining it back. He's still a little skinny. I took some pictures today, any idea what dad may have been? I'm so curious!
In all seriousness, your baby is looking an awful lot like a hound-type dog and not too much sheltie! So maybe some kind of Foxhound or Harrier type hound that has the longer legs to give Scooter her height.
