    Argh just a short rant.

My bed frame fell apart the other day (about a week ago). And before anyone asks, no nothing naughty was involved. It had broken in the past and I had propped it up with textbooks and finally it gave way on the other side. It was a cheap frame I got in college. Just super cheap and flimsy.

But now I've been looking online at local furniture stores to find a new bed and they just don't sell full sized beds anymore! What the heck? They're all queens, kings and then the size bigger than kings. I did not know there was a size bigger than a king! There's like... 2 options for full sized beds.

I've been sleeping on my mattress in the middle of the living room floor and it SUCKS.

...they don't sell full beds? WEIRD. They do here, but maybe because lots of bedrooms won't fit a queen/king bed.

Ikea? Cheap, yeah, but at least you'll have a frame. Or look for used?

My old ikea bed frame is still going strong now. Only my sister stole it. I've thought about it but they don't have ikea stores here.

The big store here has 60+ king sized bed frames and 6 full sized bed frames. And one of those is the same as my old one so not getting that again.

Do you need a fancy frame? I just have a plain metal one that goes under the bed(the ones you can't see)... It's been around forever and still going strong. You should be able to pick one up anywhere really.

I dunno. My furniture in the bedroom is all wooden. I really would like to not spend a fortune on a new frame. But I'd like to somewhat match the other stuff. But I also don't want a cheap fake wood frame either that splits. I feel like with wood furnture you need to spend some good $$$ on it to get quality products that don't fall apart. So maybe metal would be better?

I have a full bed, it's Ikea though. As far as I know..every ikea bed frame comes in full and queen and king

I love full size! I do wish other bed places carried it more.

Have you checked IO Metro? They do custom as well. I <3 them, it is where most our stuff comes from - well made with a decent price IMO.

Look for a local mattress company. We have two here in town. One makes mattresses, one makes some mattresses and also sells other brands. They might not have anything in stock but you could order from them... I was going to order a frame from one of them here when I thought I was getting a Queen bed but unfortunately a queen won't fit in my bedroom here, sigh.

Have you looked online? It's almost holiday so you could find with free/cheaper delivery.

I have a full size too and it sucks looking for bed stuff *sheets/bedding* but I was able to get a frame last year around Christmas/New Years

If you can't find anything nice but cheap online, you can buy a metal under the bed frame cheap(you can't see them so they won't clash) and then when you have more $ to spend buy a nice one that matches. :)

I ended up picking up a free metal frame from craigslist or freecycle or something. It's the kind that can extend out to be twin/full/queen depending on the box spring and mattress you have. Pretty sure you could pick up a set for $50 at any mattress store to tide you over until you can find the wood furniture you want.

I've never even heard about that place. Where is it?

I may do a metal frame for a while then splurge on a nice(r) wood frame. I've thought about doing Ikea online.

You could do the metal frame and rig your existing head board to it for the time being. That way it still matches everything :)

I had to do that way back when, LOL

Mine is a full from ikea. I think it's pine, very simple but I've had it probably 8 or so years. It came unfinished so I just put a thin layer of stain on it.

There are still full size made, they're just getting rarer. Queen and king sizes have the same length side rails, and, frankly, there's not that much market for full anymore. The difference in size between full and queen is 4" X 6".

Most of the full size beds that are available are either kid types (which are usually either of awful quality or exorbitantly expensive -- or both -- unless you go with a something like Pinecrafter.) http://www.pinecrafterfurniture.com/

The metal frame is a good idea. You can even cut a headboard from plyboard and cover it with some padding and fabric and bolt it to the frame. Just be sure you get a bolt on frame.
