Big Update on Belly

Sorry I haven't been posting here as much but I wanted to let you guys know whats been going on. In the past 4 days, Belly has learned sit, down, stand, come, and stairs. At this rate,she'll be able to start puppy agility by friday. I LOVE this little gal, but I have some questions. She never nips, unless she gets very excited during play.How do I stop this? Should a hold her muzzle and say NO? Another thing, can I bring her to an off leash dog park? She loves other dogs, especially well-behaved ones. And when can she start learning to swim? I think thats all but I bet there'll be more on the way soon Here's another pic of her.

You probably know that, but keep repeating and repeating the commands. She may know them now, but in a few weeks, she will conveniently forget sometimes

I would not let her out at all until she has all her shots - which should be when she is 4 months or so. You can take her to places where you are 100% sure that all dogs have their shots, but don't leave her on the ground, keep her in your arms at all cost - she will get sick if she gets in contact with parvo until she has her 3rd set of shots. I don't know what puppy agility is, but I think you should hold off until she has all her shots as well. Really, don't take risks. I know it sucks, and you want to take her everywhere, I do too with Tips, but it's too dangerous to take the risk.

For the nipping, you can do that but some people don't like it and just say 'no bite' firmly, stop playing and ignore the dog for 2 minutes. I've been trying that with Tips, but it's not working so well, and it never did with Boris, but it might with you. Whatever you do, stick to something, and if it really doesn't work after 2 months try something else.

She's a puppy. If she doesn't nip much that's great at this age. Its only how the express themselves. Give her a toy or distract her when she nips during play. I think, however, if its only during play, I really wouldn't worry about it. As long as she knows when playtime is over of course.

I know she's a puppy, and I think it's great that she doesn't nip much but thats just the problem, she doesn't know when playtime is over .

When playtime is over try just saying "All done" "OK Calm Down" and rubbing hands like brushing off something. Thats what I did with my dogs. When I start brushing my hands, both my dogs will stop, drop and roll over for a belly rub Belly needs to learn your new rules and it may take her some time, but with patience and consistency I'm sure she'll learn.
