On Saturday, the Dutch Shepherd made an appearance at an AKC conformation show for the first time!
One short-hair, Small Yard's Boaz (m), and 2 long-hairs, Dutch Masters' BB's Lucille (f), and Faimshey's Cailin Donja (f), were entered at the Piedmont
Kennel Club show in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Best Male was my boy, Boaz, Best Female was Donja. Boaz went on for BOB, and also for Best in Group (FSS)!
FSS breeds can only participate in the "Open Shows". At these shows, professional handlers are not allowed, even if showing their own dog. And points that are earned go towards a Certificate of Merit. It's a great start for a great breed! (And neither of us remembered to get a photo!)
