I went camping with my family a few weekends ago and my cousin has a very big dog named Debo. He is a 5 year old male. They say he is st. bernard and bull mastiff. I see the bernard, but I dont see any bull mastiff in him. What do you think?

He is blue merle. I think one of his eyes is blue too. I dont think bernards have that kind of coloring, but I could be wrong.

But anyway, here are a few pictures.

Holy Crap, lookit that face! Huge.

I don't think it could be Bull Mastif either. Maybe a Neapolitan Mastiff?

Neither Bullmastiffs nor St Bernards are merle. So somewhere along the line he's got something else in him. The pics aren't loading for me (I'm having a bad time with that.), but I'll check back...

What ever he has in him is probably some sort of mastiff, because he looks just like a bernard with weird coloring. The blue makes me think he might be part neo. He has huge lips that hang down.

Maybe Catahoula or some sort of bulldog? Not bullmastiff, but some type of bulldog. I've seen some blue merles there.

Cute guy at any rate. How much does he weigh??

i think it's actually brindle, not blue. i can't really tell in the pics. Bullmastiff and St. Bernard sounds good, but Neo Mastiff X St. Bernard also works.

That's def a merle pattern. If I'm not mistaken, don't some of the alapaha bulldogs carry merle patterns?

I know bull mastiffs and saints do not. Neither do Neos. No mastiff breed carries a merle pattern aside from Danes.

I'm trying to figure out where he got his big ole head.

Handsome fellah though, whatever he is.

Alapaha was my first guess actually; I see quite a bit of big bulldog in him, and Saints just have massive heads to begin with, though not quite that wide.

He's got the head of a a mastiff or St Bernard...something reminds me of an Akita...maybe it's the curl in his tail because nothing else looks it. Akita come in that color don't they?

That head sreams Saint Bernard, giant noggin, right down to the loose lips, which Saints have. The blue eye could have come from the Saint side aswell, albeit it is a disqualification for showing purposes, but Saints are born with them. The tail too, can be seen on a poorly bred Saint-a disqualification as well. A curl in the tail is fine as long as it is not carried up over the back, like his. My boy has that bad tail too. For the color marking, it is not unheard of to have a brindle patterned coat, as long as tail tip, chest and legs remain white, although not favorable. So, I'm not sure what he is mixed with, but that is definatley part Saint!
