I've been busily immersing myself in photoshop today and I thought it'd be fun to see some of your "before" and "after" editing shots! I know a lot of you are great photographers and use photo editing programs to give your photos those final touches. Let's see the difference it makes :)

If anyone has any crazy photoshop work (more than just photo editing), feel free to share that here too!

A few of mine with my edits today - I'm far from a great photographer, but here ya go!

Let's see some of yours!

These are all done in lightroom. No photoshop skills here.

Usually I just do minor edits. I do my best to get the results I want from the camera. I shoot RAW and do all my post-processing in Adobe Lightroom.

Here's an example of a bit more extreme editing, because even with my indoor lens the lighting wasn't the best:

However, when we visited Havana in January, we only took point-and-shoots with us and those photos didn't at all convey the vividness of the city. Since I wanted to show Havana to family and friends through these photos, it was important to me to get them as close as I could.

So, some more extreme examples:

I used to draw in Photoshop ALL the time. I switched to Paint Tool SAI in 2010-ish, but may be returning to Photoshop while I tutor myself in the finer aspects of digital painting.

Here's one of the last things I drew in Photoshop:

OMG this is awesome!!! lol I was scrolling through and was about to say "Aww it looks like Jackson" and then I saw his name :p

Love your edits too. I'll have to look through my photos. I really need to learn photoshop. I just use iPhoto right now but my friend installed photoshop on my computer for me. Just need to learn some tricks.

Unfortunately I recently dumped the vast majority of my photos on my external harddrive and have no ambition to go get it lol so I had to choose from the few photoshoots that I have recently done.
I also use Lightroom for all my photo touch ups.

This is a cool idea :)

I use Lightroom, don't know Photoshop at all (though I would like to get it and learn to use it). I sometimes edit a lot and sometimes not much, depending on the photos or how I'm feeling.

I was in the terrible habit of deleting all of my RAW images, so these are only relatively recent photos...

Thanks :) I got photoshop from a friend as well and have been slowly learning some of its ins and outs. I've still barely brushed the surface, but it's pretty cool. It's not the most intuitive of programs for a newcomer, but it's pretty easy to follow many of the tutorials out there and once you know which buttons to click to do what, it's not hard to use at all.

RBark - I really like that tree photo by the way. All of the photos posted so far are awesome, but that one in particular stood out to me. The original photo is nice, but WOW, the edited one just pops.

So when my sister helped me out with pictures last week, we had gone out at sunrise and the lighting was changing very quickly. I tried to set the aperture and shutter speed accordingly, but it was hard catching up with the sun so we got a lot of overexposed shots. Luckily, post processing saved them.

This also inspired me to go ahead and edit some galaxy/starscape pictures I never got around to touching up.

Edited version on its own

Thanks! I've been working hard at finding my style. I was really happy with that one too :)
