This has been in the news here for several weeks. It was discovered that the owners of a pet crematory have been dumping bodies and otherwise disposing of the remains of pets they were paid to cremate and return to the owners in urns in various and sundry awful ways.

It seems to be a practice that's more widespread than we'd like to think

That's horrible. You think that you can trust someone to do something that is really important and meaningful and they rip you off.

I've got three urns in my shrine at $160 a pop for my pets and by God that better be their ashes in them. But, I guess this has even been uncovered with PEOPLE crematories. Remember the guy from -- I think KY? He was burying human corpses all over his farm and not cremating them!!!!

That one was on the border with Tennessee and either Alabama or Georgia, Amy. The weird thing was, it would have cost less to run the crematory than to store the bodies and then bury them like he did!

One of the scary things is that they sometimes end up in the food supply of other animals! It's awful enough to think that anyone is so callous as to take such advantage of someone else's grief, but then to think that those bodies can end up - along with the drugs used for euthanasia - in the food supply . . . Unconscionable!
