I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to show off my litter of pups. They are 5 1/2 weeks old now and I am pleased with how they are maturing. :D

See the pups

They are super adorable. I really don't see the tris as much, really, really cute!

Do you have a keeper? Which is the lucky pupper?

I know almost nothing about Basenji's but I find them so beautiful! Your pups are gorgeous.

cute dogs!
is it true that basenji's are escape artists and are very hard to keep in a fence?
Many Basenjis are escape artists but mine aren't. In all the years I have had Basenjis I only had one that was determined to get out of the fence. I installed a "hot wire" across the top and the bottom of the fence and she never got out after that. Where I am now I only have a 4' chain link fence. I had one dog that flopped over the top rail of the porch and got out a couple times. He wasn't trying to go anywhere though. It was hot outside and he was looking for a way to come back inside to the air conditioner. I did install a roll bar over the rail and no dog can get over it now.

The tri girl is my favorite as well, with that little dot on her forehead.

I have a good sized basenji book I bought and memorized years ago when I was certain I wanted one. The practical side of me has realized that they would likely not do for what I want in a dog, but the obsessed needy side of me is sqeeing over the pictures! Be sure and come back to post more in another week or two, okay?

Puppy #4 is so pretty! They're all adorable, but I agree with the previous posters who think that the tri girl has something special :)
