I am debating on whether or not to use this vet clinic.
I have hear yes and no to doing it, so I need some more educated opinions.

They offer an Optimum Health Insurance option, in which you pay a small fee everyday and they will cover vaccinations, speutering, basic check-ups, etc, for up to $1,000 at a time. Is it worth it or should I not chance it?

If I adopt one of the dogs listed, form the animal control bureau, I must have them vet checked within 10 days, or they will take the animal back and fine me if I do not submit the papers. I figured, for, at least a first time visit, Banfield wouldn't be bad, even if just one check-up and then I choose another vet.

Good idea, or should I just steer clear?
They seem to be fine with my fiance's dog and cat.

Thank you, that has opened my eyes a lot.

I guess I will have to find somewhere else.
I'm really not looking to pay too much for a first vet visit since it probably will not have vaccinations or neutering/spaying involved, just a general health check-up to let the bureau know that I actually have a vet I suppose?

Just wondering, how much, in general, can I expect to pay for a general check-up if that is all that is needed?

Until now, I have never had to deal with paying full-price because I knew the vets I used before, and it was an extremely rural area where I lived.

it all depends on if --you need a heartworm check, vaccinations, etc.., an office visit isn't terribly expensive--it's the additional stuff that gets pricey! And your location will determine costs too. Call around to a few vets and just ask them what they charge.
