Do you think after you get your dog home from grooming and take a real good look at her and decide the groomer didn't do a good job you can (should) call and ask her to re-trim the dog? My groomer normally does a fantastic job on Lily, but this time I don't know what happened. When I first saw her at the shop I saw her head on and she looked ok, but when I got her home I could see she wasn't cut close enough on the top and the little fringe she has around her body was way too high and when she laid down and then got up, it stuck up all over... also, I could tell she didn't even scissor her legs this time.... OR the fringe.... I don't know what the problem was... I half believe she gave her to someone else to do, even though I specifically asked for her.... should I call on Monday (she was groomed on Sat) and ask if she could trim her up a bit? I don't want to make her mad or anything.... although, I don't think she is the type to get mad...don't know her all that well.... what is the right thing to do???

I would call and explain It's not like you waited a week and THEN decided it wasn't what you wanted or expected.

I don't know any groomer who values their customers that wouldn't touch the dog up to more of the owner's liking.

I'd call and tell them your concerns and see what they say. Hopefully they'll offer to fix her up for you. I'd also ask if the groomer you asked for did the entire groom or not. If not, what can you do in the future to ensure SHE does ALL of your dog?

If not satisfied with the answers, I'd find another groomer.

If your really unhappy I would call up and ask for a quick trim.

Just be prepared that she may not have time... I know many good groomers book up very quickly and often you have to wait a week or more for an appointment.

In the future, I would check the dog over before you leave and ask for any touch ups on the spot.

I have been to groomers who did a great job the first few times and then it was like they figured I was sticking with them and they started slacking and not doing a good job anymore... Id ask for certain things and they would ignore them and they just seemed lazy all around... I just had to find a new groomer.

I would call and ask for it to be fixed.

I know my boss will always do it. I think sh etells all new customers they have 2 days, if they are really not happy to call back and she will fix it up for them, free offcourse.

I called the groomer (this is Petco, btw... the manager is my groomer) and I explained my concerns and she told me to bring Lily in today. I did and she re-trimmed her and said she was sorry for the miscommunication and Lily looks great now! She said she was glad I called if I wasn't happy with the cut... so I am glad I called. From now on I will take a picture of Lily in with the cut I want... Thanks so much for your replies... :)
