So I am sort of planning a tattoo I'd like to get. Ideally on my collar bone *gulp*. I want it to be this quote:
and sort of staggered by the two parts... I'd be happy with a little art around it, not just strictly font and would like a pretty hand writing'ish font... if anyone had some spare time and wanted to sketch, that'd be cool.. Otherwise, just general ideas and suggestions? Thanks!

Kinda like this, for body positioning, though could be a little angled too.

I don't know tattoos at all, but that quote seems awfully long - nice sentiment, just really long...

That was my thought too. I would think you'd only want the first or second half (before/after the semi-colon)

Yeah, I know it's pretty long. Which is why I can't quite figure out how I want it to go on my body, you know? But I can't bring myself to use only one part or the other.

My first thought was it's a little too long, too.

How about putting the first part on your right side, and the second part on your left?

The quote is quite long, and the smaller the script needed to keep it along the collarbone won't look good.

I think if you want the whole quote, you'll want to split it up. Maybe half on the top side of your collarbone and the second on the bottom of your collarbone?

    I was thinking like

    It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;
what is essential is invisible to the eye

So not all one line straight across, because I do want it to be something people can read. I am just attached to the whole quote, don't want to do only one part. It's a memorial of Bella, so to speak.

ETA: It won't show it how I like it, but basically, the bottom part would be "tabbed" out so they'd be "staggered"

I still think it might be hard to keep even the top line of the quote along the length of your collarbone without making the script really small and unreadable.

You could do it on one side, staggered after the semi colon so that whichever side you want lines up, like, align right, or align left type deal, or center it, so that on the shorter part of the quote it's well, centered. :p

Also, I keep reading the title as Autistic people... ect :p

I would put it else where.. but I really just don't know where. I am not keen on around my waist (I did think of that, actually) because I don't often show that area of my body at all (stretch marks that I don't like!), and I'd like to have a tattoo that's visible but can be covered.

I am going to send the info to my boyfriends tattoo artist (the guy that'll be doing it for me) and see what he says and see what he can draw up.

But in general, I am open to other suggestions for body spots that will allow me to use the whole quote.

Ribcage. I have a drawing and a quote from Shakespeare's "Julius Ceasar" on my left side. Also, no one can see it unless I want them to. Unless I'm in a bathing suit :p Even my dragon on my back will show if I'm wearing a specific cut of shirt, just the top, but you can see it there. No one can see the ribcage tattoo. That's also something to consider. I got it there because I didn't want anyone to be able to look at it and judge me by it. Now that I'm older and give less of a f*ck and have chosen a job where I won't be judged for having tattoos, I want more that *I* can look at. I know it's there on my side, but I frequently forget about it. In fact, I hardly ever remember I have it. Same with my back tattoo. It's a HUGE piece, and still not finished, but I almost never remember I have it. I can't see it without looking in a mirror, so I forget about it. Now I want tattoos I can look at and admire. So I got one on my bicep. Full color, takes up the entirety of the interior of my bicep, and I LOVE looking at it. It's gorgeous. The rest of my tattoos are black, and I'm planning another one in black and grey, but with this one I'm going to do a halfsleeve in all color. There's no black in this tattoo at all.

The ribcage didn't hurt terribly for me, in fact, it sort of tickled, but it's a tough spot for a lot of people. The worst was my dragon, over my spine. I wanted to cry. My bicep wasn't bad except near my armpit :p

The quote is split into two, above and below the drawing and it's

    "Cry Havoc,

And let slip the dogs of War"

I'd post a picture, but I'm planning on having the drawing changed eventually, but the words look good, they're in Papyrus font (I know, I know, lol) and I've had it for about 7 or 8 years now.

I have a couple quotes I'd like, but I have the sort of same problem you do. Placement. I know where I'd LIKE to get them (forearm) but I'm not sure I want to do that if I could put them some place else and still have them. My sister has a small quote "No Lies, Just Love" on her feet, across the top, but your quote is kind of long for that, and as much as I didn't mind a ribcage tattoo, you couldn't pay me enough money to get my feet tattooed.

But, be warned, it's hard to get just one. I got the one on my bicep (it's of the Colorado Rockies, btw) and now I'm planning the other half of this arm and turning it into a halfsleeve, and planning a halfsleeve for the other arm.

Well damnit, now I am looking at other Le Petit Prince quotes.. siiigh. BUT! I just had a brilliant idea... now to figure out if it'd work.

Thinking I'd like "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;" all in a nice font, black ink. Then underneath it, "what is essential is invisible to the eye." in white ink... Not sure how it'd look on my pale skin though... hmm.. Off to do some research!

Yes. Ribcage tatts are hot and it's such a good location for text.

I have 'to cool in the peppermint breeze' on my rib cage, I plan to expand on it with a portrait of Arnold now. I will also put Backup on the other side with something along the lines of 'smile because it happened.'

Ribs offer a lot of space and they're uber fun.

Yeah, what she said. Ribcage tattoos are the shiznit.

Quotes, even longer ones, normally look fantastic on the ribs. Easy to cover, easy to show if you want. Also, on the inside of the upper arm could work too.

CD! I WANNA SEE YOUR ROCKIES INK! I've got a "Tribute to the West" thigh tattoo that I'm working up right now. I'M SO STOKED.

This was right after I got it done. It's healed up quite nicely now.

Also, is a crappy cellphone picture, saved off Instagram :p
