I'm pretty sure miss Cheshire has a death wish. She is always supervised when with Argon, as he does have some prey drive, and is shut in a bathroom when I am gone.
For the first few weeks, she pretty much ignored him, and he couldnt care less about her.
Now she's 16 weeks, and has become quite sassy. Furthermore, she is convinced that Argon is her new best friend, he just doesn't know it yet.
She will leap up and jump on top of him, not aggressively, but it is irritating. She will also attempt to nibble on/play with his tail and legs.
Argon, naturally, doesn't find this as fun as she does. He has growled at her, and once snapped near her, not at her, when she scared him. Both times, Chesh was removed from the situation and given a time out in the bathroom.
I really have two issues here. First, I do not discipline Argon for doing this, because he does have the right to tell her off. The problem is, his last owners "popped his nose" whenever he growled at another dog. It's taken me almost a year to teach him how to give a warning growl again, and every time he does it, he cringes and gives me a worried look. Thus, when I firmly tell Chesh "no" and remove her from the situation, he acts like I'm going to beat him. I don't want him to feel like he's doing something wrong, so how I correct her without scaring him?
Two: How can I make things a little easier for them? Is is just something that will come with time and maturity for the kitten?
