I think the question should be: Are the humans in your house allowed on the furniture?

If I'm already on the furniture in question, they can only come up when invited (which is pretty much always because I like to snuggle and if Marlowe doesn't get an invite to the futon in the evenings he just stands around in the corner looking miserable and making me feel guilty). If no one's on the furniture, they can help themselves. We keep pretty much everything that is popular with them covered in a blanket or towel for easy washing. And if people don't like my furry furniture, they don't have to come over! ;)

Conrad gets off on command, even from a dead passed-out sleep. Marlowe....not so much. But on the other hand he doesn't particularly hold it against you if you remove him physically, which is easy enough to do since he's a lot smaller than Conrad.

Conrad's really the only one allowed on our bed when we're in it, and even then only if invited, and more and more we've been not inviting. The bed seems to now be the cats' domain. Marlowe's not encouraged to join us in bed because when he falls asleep he turns in to a 50 lb. sack of bricks and just will not budge one inch.

Yes for the most part, Sierra's allowed on the furniture.

I tried to enforce "only when invited" rules, but that only still stands for our bed. She doesn't sleep on the bed with us, she has her own chair (what was my reading chair) in the bedroom and she sleeps there. I think if I had a bigger dog I'd enforce it a bit more, but Sierra's the perfect snuggle-on-the-couch size!

Benji is allowed on the couch in the TV room, my parent's bed (although Siam usually has that, so he's locked out of that room, being high prey drive and all). Daisy was never taught not to get on the couch, she just never did until recently. Now I keep finding her on the couch at random times when I walk into the room. Silly dog.

Gracie, as all our dogs have been, is strictly on the floor. I'm glad it's that way now that we have two kids. We quite often end up all laying on the floor snuggling in a big heap though.

Yes and no.

Yes when I am in and alone, no when anyone else is in ;)

She seems to distinguish the two times as well.... she'd never jump up when my parents are in for example.

She settles MUCH better on a sofa - she does think she is part cat though.....

Jet can get on the couch but chooses not to UNLESS there is a blanket on the couch, weirdo dog.
Peanut just jumps up on the couch and plays, every once and awhile he will sleep on the couch.
Nina and Logan have to be helped on the couch since they are so small.
Nina loves being on the couch, Logan hates it.
Peanut sleeps on my bed at night, Jet sleeps in the living room on the floor, Nina in her crate and Logan in his crate.

All of the dogs (and cats for that matter) are allowed on any furniture they choose.... the cats prefer the backs of the couches so we keep them covered with blankets so the hair is easier to wash away... none of the dogs shed so its not a problem....

you can attempt to move the dogs if you want to sit on the couch, but if you want to be comfortable its probably better to sit on the floor.

If people dont like the dogs on the furniture they are not required to visit... we knew someone awhile back who did not like that we had 2 cats and 1 dog... so they no longer visit, their loss not mine... glad they didnt stick around now with 3 cats and 3 dogs they would be horrified:yikes:

All the dogs sleep in someones bed... tried the crate with all three when they first came and they cried their way out of it eventually:p... plus I cant sleep without at least one four legged creature curled up next to me, it just doesnt feel right.

No, Hershey and Whisper aren't allowed on any furniture. Whisper is allowed on my bed, Hershey isn't though because he would hog my twin sized bed. lol Whisper is perfect size! :p

Mine are allowed on the furniture, but not the bed. I'm very jealous of my sleeping space. :D
