There's nothing wrong with admins or moderators telling you to lessen the size of your sig or correcting it. I think you agree that they're allowed to tell you what to do when you register if memory serves me correct. I don't see what the big deal about that is as long as there's a reson like it's not allowed or your signature is to big when you're doing it to make a point and to annoy everyone else to make them agree with you.

Dober, were you asked to please make it smaller before a Mod did it ??? I really can't remember what size it was ...I personally feel too much was cut. How about starting over ( with a happy smile !? )

Having used a friend's computer with dial-up I know how extremely boring it is without signatures - and how extremely slow and bothersome it is to browse with signatures.

In my opinion, it is common courtesy to reduce your signature as much as possible. Not everyone has a DSL or a huge 20" monitor to view forums with.
You can still make a decent signature at a reasonable file/pixel size.
I also believe this to be true for posting photos. There are MANY free programs that can be used to resize photos. Heck, even those with microsoft have a free one - paint! There are also many sites that can be used to resize once they are loaded (photobucket, zoto, imagestation to name a few.)

I don't seem to have much say on this forum but, I don't think it was right for a moderator to change personal settings, either. They are here to moderate. I can see if if it was days after and messages were sent via-PM or e-mail for a member to change their settings. That said, I didn't see the image that was posted. I'd feel incredibly violated if someone changed my settings in my profile or logged onto an account of mine. Of course, I guess I have no way of controlling or knowing if that happened.

This is just my opinion of course, and like I said I don't seem to have much of a say or ability to speak in this forum.... and my opinion doesn't mean a free chance to bash me. :)

No, you didn't see the sig. It was excessively long and was done purely to make a point and **** people off. It was like that for days and we asked her on the forum exactly how long she was going to have it like that. She said until she'd made her point. So I changed it and I don't have any regrets about that. Under normal circumstances, if it wasn't done for spite, I would have PMed the member first. Normally all it takes is a quick note for someone realize their sig was too big. That wasn't the situation here. She already knew it was too big.

I find that some of the sigs are too wide. Maybe those posters don't realize that people have to scroll from side to side just to read their posts. If I come to a post that is like that I usually just skip it rather than having to read part of a line then scroll right to get the rest then go back to the next line and scroll again...well, you get the idea.

They shouldn't be too wide because there is a restriction on width. However, individual posts can be distorted by pics that are too wide. Which siggies are too wide for you?

i have no problem with a siggy that takes up the width of my monitor (so long as i dont have to scroll side to side, which so far i havent had to...
however i do think there should be a restriction on lenght, it soenst even have to be a tight restriction but no offence, when i have to scroll the enrtire lenght of the 4 previous seoples posts, i get sick of it and dont bother reading on.
theres been a few, none i can remember off the top of my head, but for those with dial up its got to realy suck.

all of the forums im on have a size limit on siggy images and a character limit for words...

it doesnt have to be a tight restriction just enough that you dont have to scroll the length of a sheet of paper to read the next post.

i love looking at everyones siggies, but theres a limitation that love lol.

i dont see my siggy as too long however i think a few more lines and it would be!
