My boyfriend has turned to me for help regarding placing his mother's dog and I thought hopefully you guys could in turn help me!

His mom found the pup about a year ago, running around the streets as a stray. She dubbed her Sweet Pea (Mike calls her Pee Pot LOL). Mike's mom never really wanted a puppy and she is just so overworked right now and the dog is stressing her out due to still being a puppy. So here is the nitty gritty details.

Purebred brown and white female Shih Tzu. Roughly a year old, spayed, up to date on shots. Missing an eye, vet said it shouldn't cause her any problems. Great with other dogs, cats unknown. She has had no training at all. Mike's mom refuses to crate her and she works 10-12 hours a day, so Sweet Pea needs help in the potty training arena. She's mostly trained to use puppy pads, but it is hit and miss. I think if she had someone consistently work with her she'd be just fine. She is mouthy when she plays, like any puppy that was never taught bite inhibition. She REALLY needs to be shaved down and have her coat be allowed to grow back out - Mike's mom can't keep up with it and it is just really matted. I was told she was very fearful around men (took her awhile to warm up to Mike, but when she associated him coming over with Cynder, she perked right up), but fine with women.

I met Sweet Pea once. To me, she seemed like a very nice little dog. (Didn't give me any problems at all regarding me being a new person.) She liked to try to chew on my fingers when I was petting her, but nothing horrible. She just needs someone that has time for a puppy. And she is REALLY cute. lol Even as matted as she was, I thought she was one of the cutest little Shih Tzus I had seen in a long time. Her eye didn't seem to phase her, but she does like to walk in circles and she often runs into your legs. She's used to having a fenced in yard to run in, so I'm not sure how she does on a leash and such.

If anyone is interested or knows of anyone who is, let me know. She's located in Indianapolis, IN and I can help with transport if needed.
