and I like this one.
He's a friendly looking piggy bank.

I have since smoothed out his sides after this pic was taken and cleaned up the legs a bit.

I wish him luck to fire well and find a good forever home. Kind of wish he was staying here. I have grown a fondness for such a good natured looking pig.

Not one crack and the cork fits perfectly in the bottom.

fired to cone 10. hard as a rock.
coins drop down nicely from his pan to his belly. Would you like a pig you could feed? That is what my grandson wanted.

vid..it doesnt' work right if the coins don't slip down with a satisfying clink.

now I kinda want to make another pig. THey are contagious. I will never ever forget when I tried to make my grandson a regular pig with the slot on the back, the look on his face. Oh NO NANA...I want a pig I can feed. I confess, I do to.

Since that Piggy didn't hang around long enough to even say hey, it became obvious there was a need for yet one more pig. This pig is suppose to be my pig. Sometimes things go together easily like your hardly a part of it at all and then there is one like this. I took the face off 3 times, removed the snout the bowl and questioned the body. I moved a leg up, changed the tilt of the head ,and told my friend that the problem I think is I was trying to make it like her pig. She called that pig before he was even dried out.

I liked that pig too. THis pig is not going to be that pig, no matter how hard I try. So I told her, maybe I just need to let this pig, be the pig it wants to be.
So again I took the face off. No, that wasn't it either.

So yesterday this poor battered piece of clay said uncle, and it will go no further. Pig, BE a pig. And your my pig. I hope. Now for a nice long dry out.
pics loading

trying to make that smaller, sorry.

other odd things in progress but not fired yet. Kind of, doing a forest of people. this is tree number two.

So I show my grandson who is 5 this pig. He says "I want that pig. I really want THAT pig". hmmm I say. THen you would have to give me back the pig I made you on your Birthday." HE frowns. He studies, and he says "ok I really want THAT pig." SO I covered it back up and told him we better see if it fires ok first.
