That's pretty much how I cook-"semi homemade".
Probably only 3-4 nights a week. Monday and Tuesday I am usually still at school at dinner time so I eat on campus. Sunday I just don't feel like it, I do a bunch of homework and cleaning and then my two TV shows are on, so I usually have a frozen chicken pot pie. So Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are open for me to make meals. I just have to stop forgetting to take things out to defrost.
Those 2-3 meals a week generally provide enough leftovers to fill the other days. We'll go out Friday or Saturday, and that's the week.
Pretty much every meal. We do go out usually for lunch after church though
Hubby and I both cook. We each have our specialties and our areas of "expertise" lol. Hubby is a fantastic cook
Daily. We do have some nights we cheat though. Not too often
I used to cook every night, but now hardly anyone is home anymore so I have simple dinners for husband, dad and I, mostly soup and sandwiches, fish sticks or salads and have a bigger meal twice a week and eat the left overs other nights. My husband is a good cook and enjoys it. I never enjoyed cooking, always just did it because we had to eat.
So bad but me too... Other than maybe a sandwich and bagel or something...
Always. I do sometimes eat frozen stuff, but it's something I made (or assembled) and then froze - not something packaged at a plant or anything like that. Right now I'm really low on stuff in the freezer since I have no money and am low on food in general, so I don't have any spare cash to batch buy/cook. And it sucks because I'm really depressed and cooking is not something I want to do. So I guess it's good that about all I can afford is eggs because that's really frickin' easy to make for every meal...
I make supper 4-5 nights a week, some nights parts will be pre made, sorry but I am not making my own pasta or sauces, lol, nor do I bake bread! Usually I make chicken, we have beef one night a week, hubby wont eat fish and I wont eat pork so those are rarely ever cooked here. Hubby makes a pot of home made soup every 4-6 months but other then that he does little cooking.
I cook every night, except on the odd nights we go out. 95% are from scratch
When I'm really unmotivated I get premade pizza dough and sauce. The I throw stuff on there and call it a meal.
It really depends on the time of year, lol. Lately it hasn't been often that I've been eating at home, even though my mom has cooked, just because I've been busy.
I already know my schedule for this week:
Yesterady (Sunday) - for lunch we had a church picnic fellowship meal, so I had a bit of everything! For supper, our pastor invited us over and roasted hot dogs
Monday - grilled chicken, veggies, salad
Tuesday - probably fast food (soccer game)
Wednesday - depends, but most likely Wendy's (where we (my family and pastor's family) usually go after church) or leftovers
Thursday - taco soup or chicken noodle soup or leftovers, lol. It depends... I have class until 9 p.m. and there is also a soccer game, so not sure if anyone will have time to cook
Friday - most likely having a fire and roasting hot dogs again
Saturday - have no idea. I'm keeping my pastor's kids for the weekend, so I'll either cook for us or we'll go out
BUT next week it could be totally different. This is our crazy time of year when everyone has different schedules, haha.
Really depends on my mood/motivation. I cooked from scratch last night but I'm not sure how long ago I last did so. Weeks ago I think. Semi-scratch happens more often; a pasta dish with chicken and veggies using a bottle of sauce and maybe some other seasonings. Really liking some of the Indian food simmer sauces I've found recently and cooking with them. More often than not my dinner came from a frozen package, can of soup, pre-flavored packaged meat.
I actually cooked more often when my brother and I were trading off nights and cooking for each other but he didn't want to do that anymore. It's harder to cook for one person as I'm picky about what I'll actually eat as leftovers. So it needs to be close to a single serving or something I'll actually eat later.
