EVERY time that I dremel Lucy's nails... EVERY time.... I manage to get her tail fur caught in it.

And thankfully it apparently doesn't hurt or anything, because she doesn't react - she gets way more upset about me touching her feet - but omg it makes me feel like the worst person in the world that it always happens. I try to prevent it, I try to tuck her tail out of the way, it just doesn't matter. Can't be avoided. I feel like I need to start wrapping it in vetwrap.

Always gives me a mini panic attack too.

No, you're not. Heck, one time I got my own hair caught in a dremel. At a show. 5 minutes before I was supposed to go into the ring. I don't really like dremels anymore, lol.

Put thin panty-hose/fish net kind of things over her paw (the nails will stick through and it will hold the fur back) :)

I saw a groomer at work do this and it seems to work for hairy doggies!

I was going to suggest that, too, but it won't work for tail hair. ;) But thinking more about it, I bet it would work if you wrapped her tail in a stocking.

Caleb lays on his back in my lap to have his nails done. Sometimes he tucks his tail "under", and I'm afraid I'll catch some hair.

If she sat still it'd probably be fine. But no, she flails and I have to attempt to hold her down and dremel lol becaude I have no help. And then WOAH here comes her tail haha.

Poor dog! I suppose a sock or something over it would help...

I have caught Smudge and Cider's hair in the dremel before. They do squeak if caught. I try to use the hand holding the paw to hold back the fur near their feet. It works fairly well usually. I tried a stocking before. Was more effort than worth.

Arson is new to dremelling. Done it three times in three weeks though. He needs to be held as he flails. I dremel sitting in a chair. Kerri's JRTs, my cockers, and now Arson too. Cider's about 23 pounds. Much bigger I couldn't. Sit in a chair, have them upsidown on my lap. Gives me a decent hold on any squirmy dogs.
