Note: I'm going to the doctor, just waiting on my friend to get me.

I've had a bladder infection for a few days, and today, my kidneys are KILLING ME, and I feel faint and naseous and I keep shaking so I think it's turned into a kidney infection.

I know nothing about these. Is this an emergency!?!? Am I going to die before she gets here!?!!

Yes, it's an emergency. I don't think you're going to die, but get to the doc asap...like now. My daughter had a bladder infection that went up to her kidneys. The doc. said it was the worst he'd ever seen. She was in bad shape. But she healed up with no lasting damage. Drink water!

Lots of vibes headed your way. Keep us posted. It sounds awful.:(

Eventually, but not today. Good that you're going to the doc. Good luck and let's hope it is trivial that can be resolved quickly for you!

Your symptoms tell me this is something you need to get to a doctor immediately for. Is your friend on her way?

I've had one UTI in my life and that was plenty! I was shaking, peeing blood, the whole shebang. Guzzle as much water as humanely possible, start to get that flushed out as much as you can until you can get some antibiotics.

Been there, every UTI I get presents itself with no symptoms until my kidneys start aching and I run a fever.

You'll live but do get yourself to the doctor and get some antibiotics. Meanwhile, drink TONS of water or gatorade if you're feverish, and pee - as much as you can.

I'm back. Almost passed out in the waiting room, but I'm alive!

The doctor said it was a severe kidney infection, and that if I had waited a day or two, it probably would have led to septic shock.

Yeah, it goes from the bladder to the kidneys to the whole circulatory system in nearly a heart beat. When it gets in the blood stream, you're in trouble. So, I'm so relieved you got taken care of. Lots of continued healing vibes headed your way.

^ This! I had a UTI -> bladder -> kidney infection and like you, Paige, I was days away from sepsis. It put me out of commission for a good week, it sucked majorly. Let it be a lesson to everyone on here, especially the ladies: monitor your UTIs closely because dem b*tches can migrate, and FAST. Don't mess around!
