Looking at their site to make my breed list for the other tread i noticed that redbones and plotts are not in the hound group why is that? and why do they seem to be seriously lacking in the coonhoud department?? i dont really pay attention to akc so this is new to me.

Because the breeders haven't pushed for it! The Redbone and the Plott are in the Miscellaneous class now, so will eventually make it to the hound group.
