I have a Golden Retriever that's 12 weeks old. And it used to be soo friendly to other dogs. But now, it's being very mean. And i think this is because she had learned the behavior of my other dog(who's very agressive). Is there a way to get my dog more sociable without being so mean?

Take your puppy to Obedience school ASAP.

Do NOT let the aggresion persist past 14 weeks old!!

A Golden is NOT supposed to be an aggresive breed at all. Definately get him to a class for socializing.

Yes your dog is more then likely acquiring the aggresive nature towards other dogs from your other dog. It happens to puppies, they pick up behavioural traits from the older dogs around them. Seperate them whenever they are around other dogs, do not let your Golden Pup to be near your other dog when other dogs are around at all.

Not sure about toothpaste, but don't use human shampoo it's probably too harsh for dogs, also you may want to post that question in the grooming section.

Dog toothpaste, I'm sure goes back after a while just like people toothpaste.. not sure the duration of that is though.

Dont use human shampoo on your dog, it has too many harsh chemicals that stripes away the essential oils in your dogs coat.
You need to get a low PH forumla for shampoo. The only human shampoo I would use on my dog would be the Johnsons Baby shampoo.. but I'd stick with a good dog shampoo.

Grammy, if they're unsocialized or have bad experiences, any dog can become aggressive or reative. You sure don't think of a Golden as having a mean bone in their body and they usually don't. But you're right....sometimes poor temperament and mishandling accounts for some of these stories we hear about lately.

SummerRiot gave good advice Snowruby. Get your pup in a class ASAP and get going on the sociailzation. Your time is running out where it will make the most difference. Be sure and don't react strongly to his reactiveness, don't punish. That can escalate the problem. Hope you get a good trainer who can help you with this in a proper way. Good luck.

If you can read the behavior on the dog the classes will be good enough.
If you can not hire a trainer it will make a world of difference.

I have one fear aggressive CAS that I can NOT put out with the young dogs she teaches them to bite the fence and to attack for NO reason just movement.

I took my young pup FF Spirit away from her and put Spirit back in with her grandma and grandma pummeled the hell out of her for acting like a ass.

Sometimes I find when pups leave mom too young they miss out on corrections by their parents and cousins. And then they learn from who ever is around.

Best of luck..
