Mimi had a good class, though she was a little sluggish. I blame a weekend of UKC shows and her post-season slump. Nothing really important happened, she did well and we got some good training in.
Ezra... I don't know what the heck he ate for breakfast (I lied, he had pork ribs) but OMG he was ON today. He had a blast, he nailed targeting, played well in the weaveomatics, did the weaves with them less open than he's had before, and got to be the demo dog for the front cross drill. OMG. There was a jump-tunnel-jump-jump straight line, a front cross to a jump and the table. He FLEW. I have no idea when he decided he had the confidence to go full out, but he caught me off guard entirely. Good dog.
After class I played with him on the baby teeter where he's started to figure out the end contact behavior (and that even though you're bowing, and that's what I want you to do, you need to bow ON the teeter, not right next to it). Doesn't seem bothered at all by it moving or the noise. Ended the day goofing around with a small sequence and nailed a couple beautiful rear crosses. We haven't trained rear crosses at ALL. Who is this dog and what has he done with my lovable (but somewhat clueless) oaf?
