Plus it's good practice with human faces. O__O Faces are hard to draw.

Fun story, I can't actually draw human faces, I have to shade it while I'm drawing it.
Dude, you so CAN draw human faces. Another fun story, at the art school we taught kids to draw using nothing but shading and color. No lines allowed (at least while learning some techniques). It really helped them get away from the black clown makeup lip outlines people usually do when they draw lips. :) So you're way ahead here.

Well I'm about to KILL Cloud's face lmao. About 3 hours of fiddling with it and it's still wrong. He's too pretty, I've decided. Freaking hard to draw.

I tried just line drawing L's face and it came out so wrong. I can tell you ahead of time what the problems with the angles will be but I can't avoid still doing them. I always get the far eye either too low or too high. L was much easier though because he's more cartoony than most I usually do.

I can sketch profiles in about 5 seconds though. Maybe I should just do profiles. ;)

I swear if you applied to an art institute you would be accepted hands down no questions asked, and probably given a scholarship too. Your very very good. I don't say it when I don't mean it. You could have a wonderful illustration career.

That dragon is AWESOME. Love him.

And post the finish work of Cloud when you are done. Too pretty or not, I bet he's awesome.

^This. Absolutely this.

That dragon creature actually looks tangible. Like I could reach out and grab his tail. It is sooo amazing! I LOVE it!:hail:

Did you take any art classes to be able to draw this way, or is it something that comes natural to you?

Thanks so much guys!

Right now, I'm working on a website so hopefully I can do commissions in the future. :)

I'm pretty much 98% self taught. I've taken one art class a few years ago and I enjoyed it immensely. I feel like it really helped me improve my skill and I really wish I could do more. I want to take more classes, but it's just not been possible.

You really have a lot of talent, I also see frogs in ice cubes so it might be an SA thing but if I click on the frogs it takes me to image shack and I can see the pics on that site.

Fresh, bold, strong, loose, that is such a good piece. Charcoal suits you!

I'm LOVING the charcoal! I can't put it down. It's so much fun and I can get a decent pic done in just a few hours (as opposed to pencil which would take me 8 hours to do the same size piece)

Moar charcoal. Emily's belated b-day pic so far:

She is so obsessed with DA. Farron plus Tegalad the mabari. Will fix Farron's receding hairline. Didn't notice till just now. I'm really really pleased with the mabari so far.

Minor rant... in game mabaris kind of annoy me. The anatomy is just awful. I think I prettied him up quite well. Mine's based off of a cane corso.

Eww.

This is much better:

Rant over.

I am going to try color again soonish I think. btw

I just bought pastels! Im really eager to try them. Seems like it'll have some of the same feel to it as charcoal.
