I am working on Bonster's bonnie right now, and it is hard and gruelling work so i have to let myself have a little fun as a reward. # hours on one, and then some clay work and then back, my reward for being a good girl!

I don't know how many of you know but my friend Kelly got me started at the clay guild in our city. SOmehow i ended up moderator and gallery coordinator. The moderator is ok, but the gallery thing has me so confused i can see straight. FOr doing these things i get to use the facilities for free and am able to have my work bisque and then glaze fired without charge, and the glazes, tools, everything but the clay is available to me for free.

I started throwing on the wheel, a skill i started a long time ago and am now resuming. I have a lot of practice to do before i ever show you anything..sigh but i also started handbuilding. I have three that are in the kiln now but that isn't what i want to show you...actually i will after i glaze them.
I did a little tile scupt thingy of Victor that got a suprising response from my family and the teachers at the guild. You know you are on the right track when people go "WOW" that is when i know i am on to something. I don't have any film so i tried to scan it so i could give you some idea of what i am talking about. I did a second one last night that makes this one look lame..even Aaron said so. Yippeeeee i get so excited, this is what makes being an artist just the best thing to be. YOu never get worse, and you find suprising new directions that you can go in. I got soooooooo many ideaas. I just have to make sure i don't stray too far from my painting either for that is a skill that takes a lifetime as well. My mama said i would be a jack of all trades and master of none, then took it back somewhere in my thirties and said i was getting pretty good at a lot of things. It is just the bomb to have a new art:D
this really sucks for you cant see it right at all but when i can take a pic i will post..the second one i am doing now is way way better then this one:)

i will glaze them an eggshell white when i am done.

the tiles are the same size as a video box (actually that is what i used to measure) and i want to do a series of about 6. Using each of Victors main different emotions and expressions. Then i will do a bust of which one i like the best. Right now i am leaning toward the one i am using for my avatar. I think it would be great to have a life size bust, i always wanted to make one of Bronki while he was alive and never got around to it:(

i cant scan the one i am working on cause it is still wet. If there is a benefactor out there, a patron of the arts that wants to donate a digi camera to an artist that stands a chance in he double toothpics of ever getting one e-mail me! i have been looking for a patron for 20 years now..like that would ever happen. sigh.....

very very cool! It kind of reminds me of the door knockers on 'Labrynth'. They could talk and they stuck out from the door. It's hard to explain, but you make it very life like. :)

canine art comp..right up my ally!!!! I was thinking if i continue the way i am i would have a show in about a year, call it Starting with What i Know Best... and a small section called THinking outside the Box. I might have enough for a gallery opening. I've got to do something, my car is about to hit the edge of too old to keep fixing up if you know what i mean. I figure it has about a year left in it before things start breaking.

new one.http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e331/smkie/clayvictortoycopy.jpg

.i have four to bisque ready and two in the making..one being fired.
I work on bonnie for three hours..do this for a break, go back. My mind and eyes need a break from the difficulty of doing so detailed a piece as the pencil work. This is almost like a mental stretch, then i can go back to focusing hard.

I never ever take the easy way out on my pencil drawing, I do not enlarge, or trace, i do it the hard and right way. IT never ever looks quite right when people do that anyway. I can always tell when someone does.

when i figured out i could do this :D http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e331/smkie/claypinchpotsfrogandmouse.jpg
