A funny dog story

In 1992, I was working at a movie theater. One night, my boss told me a story on how he dealt with people who were hunting on his parents land without permission. He told me when he confronted the hunters and told them they were on private property, the hunters, who had a dog with them, responded by laughing in his face and then continued on. Anyway, My boss was driving around when he came upon a dog. When he got out of the car to check out the dog, he found out it was the dog the hunters had with them. While checking the dog's collar, my boss noticed it had some type of radio transmitter on it. My boss correctly figured out that the hunter's were following the dog with some type of device that enabled them to follow the dog's movements and keep track of wherever the dog went (I can't remember what the hunter's were using the dog for). My boss told me he was going to get even with the hunters who were trespassing on his parents land and had laughed at him. My boss was a dog lover who wouldn't hurt the dog. Instead he put the dog in his car and waited until the hunters got close by. When he saw them approaching, he drove away to another spot and waited to see if the hunters would show up. They did and when they started getting closer, my boss drove away to another spot. My boss started driving all over town, knowing the hunters were probably going nuts trying to figure out where there dog was running off to and wondering why the dog was running in different directions. Finally, my boss took the dog to his parents house and waited for the hunters to show up. When they did, my boss told them that he had his dog in the car and were leading them on a wild goose chase. My boss was laughing his head off at the hunters who didn't think it was very funny. The hunters picked up there dog and left with my boss still laughing.

I thought this story was pretty funny. I just could imagine the hunters going crazy trying to figure out where their dog was going and so far away. But I think it was irresponsible to use a radio device to keep track of their dog and not keep their dog in sight of them. Their dog could have very easily wonder off someplace and get hit by a car, stolen or even worse. Hopefully they learned a lesson, but I doubt it.

I liked the story, but disagree about the transmitter, as it sure would have made finding my escape artist Lab when he would take off! There's a guy who has run Beagles nearby almost my entire life, and I remember him trying to find one of his dogs one night when it didn't show up. He was out there all night, whistling, and yelling, and setting my dog off every 20 minutes or so. Finally, about 12 hours after he started looking, his dog showed up in my yard, and we fed and watered him, and my dad drove around and found the owner, and brought him back to the house.

Brandy the Chihuahua, the world's smallest dog, has finished growing, and is just a little taller than a coca cola can has been named the world's smallest doggy by the Guinness Book of Records. Four-year-old Brandy weighs only 2lbs and cannot bark as her lungs are too small. Owner Paulette Keller, of Largo, Florida, told reporters, 'When I saw her I just fell in love with her. With a dog like this you have to be careful. She can't even jump on or off anything because her legs are so tiny.'
