Most digital cameras have a B&W setting, you just have to look around a bit :)

For the D40, go to Menu > Shooting Menu > Optimize Image > Black-and-white
Dude, I just saw this. I tried it just now, and it said "this option is not available with the current settings". I'm not sure what that means. :eek: What do I need to change?

Hmmm, no idea! Were you on Auto, maybe? Try it when you're on Aperture or Shutter priority. That's the only thing I can think of!

Everything is Black & White


Everything is shades of grey when you're relocating hundreds of miles...
Poor indoor lighting at night...made it work as best we could. In retrospect, should have had a darker or lighter backdrop.

Here's Teddy. Admittedly this was rushed as I was trying to take it before I moved out. I'd like to try some more black and white in the future. I've really enjoyed seeing what everyone has come up with!
