Reggin and my chihuahua pup met for the first time the other day. I kept them seperate for the first few days he was home and only let reggin smell the puppy on my hands. Then I let him come in with the baby gate up where he started crying and shaking. After awhile he got used to the pup being there and I let him in the same room as the pup. He sniffed and wanted to play. Done extremely well. They are now pals. Not once did he ever growl at this puppy. He was just curious and cautious at first.

Got some pics of one of their first meetings.

    Thats all!

Potty training is going ok. Not as good as with my other dogs. Large breed dogs really do catch on quicker than smaller breeds. He uses his pee pads but will go in an instant if the need strikes him while he is not on the pad. He doesnt seem do grasp the concept that its NOT ok to pee on the floor, couch, rug, or anything else that he is on at the time. But we just started and have a long ways to go. lol.

    Pebbles didnt get to play?

You got to let the baby have someone his own size to pick on. :rofl1:

What is this pups name anyway?

Thanks guys. I was very impressed with the way reggin has taken to this puppy. He loves the little guy. Both are frisky, so its a good match. lol.

Yep, I've already explained my situation in a different thread. ;). I reserved a puppy before the litter was born. This has been planned for a long while and he has been paid for for a long while. Refunds are not given.

Oh, and the littler was examined at 8 weeks and he has the most show potential of the entire litter. But more important than that is that he has an excellent temperament. The best of any puppy I have ever had. Very outgoing and loving... with people and other animals.

Pebbles is a little reserved with him. When they first met they did play some, but then she became disinterested. She doesn't like to be bothered with the puppy and has no problem putting him in his place when she doesn't want bothered (she does the same with Reggin). So Reggin is the better playmate.... surprisingly.

His name is Truffles. Being he is a chocolate fawn.

Showing is an expensive hobby, I hope you're prepared! A weekend of shows can easily cost $200 or more, when you factor in entry fees, gas, lodging and food... it adds up really quickly.

Do you have any stacked photos of him? Who are his parents?

Yeah, the breeder warned me of that already. The first time I take him I will be going along with the breeder because I have a lot to learn. This will be in the future. The way things are going right now, its not gonna happen any time soon.

I need to get a stacked photo of him. He is a very squirmy thing so someone else is gonna help me with that. It would be easier if my camera wasn't so big and bulky.

I'm surprised the breeder didn't at least start the show training. Every show puppy I've brought home to raise has known how to stack - and tolerate being stacked for a short amount of time - at 8 weeks.

Stacking is something you need to teach while they're young, or you'll be fighting them for a loooong time. You probably should be stacking him multiple times a day, so he'll get used to it and be ready when he does get shown.
