Anyone ever heard of this mutt....im sorry designer dog :/

Actually I never noticed these designer breeds. I always just thought they were mutts. It wasn't until I joined this forum I heard about the byb breeders selling designer breeds.I still don't understand why someone would pay all that money for a mutt. I have two mutts from rescue, I wasn't...

House trained but LOT's of pooping

Throw away the Science Diet! Go get some good premium food and feed the suggested amount for the suggested weight. Sounds like he is pooping out all the extra food! lol

    rescue or breeding or both

I think it would be very natural for a breeder to do breed specific rescue. They already care alot about the breed and know the needs for a specific (sp?) breed and can evaluate each rescue according to the breeds needs.

House trained but LOT's of pooping

I have a 13 mth Jack Russell and he is getting just under a cup a day. But I am also feeding him a premium food which doesn't require as much feeding as the cheaper stuff.

    A Preemptive Strike

If you are going to breed then you can't assume. you will need to get it on paper, and provide that history ( on paper also ) to all new owners.

My Puppy just doesn't care for food - help!

never force feed! if it is so bad a force feeding is called for then the vet makes that call! and belive me it will take alot more than being a picky eater for the need to force feed

    Swelling after shots

I took Mikey to the vet this morning for his parvo and lyme boosters. He did so much wiggling the vet had to stick him 3 times to get the parvo shot done and then get a vet tech to hold him for the lyme shot. That was at 8:00 this morning. He now has a large welt where the parvo shot was given...

    A Preemptive Strike

I'm not sure how your gonna get him to not mark. I would start by not allowing male dogs into the house to keep him from marking inside. Outside I would guess you can let him mark but you'll have to work him knowing inside from out.

Here is one for you ya'. Have you ever seen your pup go to toss their toy and it goes straight up and comes back down right on their head! I've only caught Charlotte do this once!

    A Preemptive Strike

One last preach and I am done --- It's not one of your puppies going to a shelter, it's the one that has to stay there and possibly die because someone else is adding to the already overpopulated population. Beyond that I am afraid he will always mark. I just hope he is like Mikey and only does...

    A Preemptive Strike

Gallien Jacks is right. My Mikey is a rescue dog (male) that wasn't fixed until I adopted. By that time he was already marking which he continues to do. For health reasons and your sanity you should have yours fixed. And if you do have puppies from him in the future will there be enough people...

    This Has Got To Stop!

Never ever ever use the crate for punishment. The crate to a dog is like the bathroom to us guys. It's our sanctuary and keeps us sane. You do not want the dog to start refusing to go into the crate because he thinks he is getting punished. Believe me it will cause more problems down the road.

Crate training was working now having problems? Help

Our new rescue dog is a Jack Russell, the vet thinks he is a year old but we think he is a little less maybe about 8 months old. We still sometimes have to make a midnight potty run. Someone on this board posted a good rule of thumb. Most pups can hold it in hours about equal to their age in...

    How To Exchange Food?

Mix half and half for a week or two. If he just picks out the Royal Canin and doesn't eat the other food watch him and make sure he is not having any stomach problems. If there aren't any problems then switch fully to Royal Canin.

    The dog next door.

This kills me! Why do people like this even think about getting a pet? I think they should have put HIM down so they could check him for idiocy!
