    Coolies

And you still don't know what ducking is? ETA: Shawn not sure why you bothered, I mean, your Aussie getting run over by a sheep surely doesn't qualify at ducking! Even though Malt is 100% Australian import lines, he still doesn't qualify at a C/Koolie! Lynn must not know what she is...

    Coolies

For those of you commenting on Shawn's photos of the sheep "ducking" have you ever herded with a dog? Seriously? Shawn works with the most respected herding trainer in BC. Instead she is getting comments from some arm chair critics who have no idea what they are talking about? :lol-sign...

    Hello from Canada!!

Look at the source, Shawn. Those "teasing" comments flew off my radar. I honestly didn't even notice until you pointed it out now. Not sure what else there is to contribute to the conversation here. We've established that a.) Shawn does not plan on health testing and does not health test...

    Hello from Canada!!

Right. Apparently quiet herding dogs are a novelty and all of the ones I've met are just strange :D Especially my own two, which live in a apartment. As for the breed fighting, yes it's bad, but that behavior exists in all breeds. It is much more apparent in some breeds than others. Do I...

    Hello from Canada!!

Generally, I like to pretend that you and your co-hort aren't on my radar, because I don't like to imagine the fact that Richie had to kill at least two puppies from your dogs own litters so that you could get what you could want. I think I'd done a good job finding my next potential K/Coolie...

    Hello from Canada!!

I don't know what you want me to say... these dogs barked a few times while playing Chuck It but they certainly knew what "Quiet" met. Barking when excited is... to be expected I would think. Especially with a puppy/young dog of any bred. But these dogs seemed to understand (C/Kollie) that...

    Hello from Canada!!

I've met four dogs from her so far, (three related) and they are not loud at all. In fact, although they bark in the line up in Flyball, they were almost silent when I was watching them play outside (chuck it) and just interacting with their owner. I think it's just how they are raised :)

Thoughts on Border Collie breeders in/near Ontario?

The dogs they use are undeniably gorgeous. I love the Eyewitness dog that they imported a few years back. I also like Kate - I actually looked at that very litter she was born in. Most just seemed disappointed in their personality. I think when Susan G announced that she had Buzz, a few...

Thoughts on Border Collie breeders in/near Ontario?

You are correct. I have no met any Cedar in person, but they were not spoken highly of by my friends who have met a few examples. Plus, the red to only red thing kind of creeps me out. Rival is awesome. She does breed frequently but never heard any complaints about her dogs being...

A list of breeds you'd like to own at some point?

    - Australian Shepherd - C/Koolie - Mali - Hovawart - Briard - English Shepherd - Pyr Shep ETA - forgot my next on my list - Flat Coat Retriever! ... I think I'll always have a Shih Tzu around, too.

Is it stupid to be set on a color for your dog?

Color is part of the decision process, for sure. My newest puppy is merle, and I requested a merle specifically, but had to wait for the right temperament to come along to match to the color. Personality overrides looks every time, so I'm okay with the way things worked out.

Thoughts on Border Collie breeders in/near Ontario?

I have met plenty of Powertripp and TNT dogs. Right now PT is planning a litter between Shayde (a Rival kennel bred dog) and Imp. Jim. Jim is smooth and Shayde doesn't have much coat, so you won't be dealing with gobs of hair. It should be an excellent breeding. They don't breed very often...

Bringing a puppy home on a plane

We have a Belgian Mal puppy (Czech lines) here in rescue. My friend is fostering it - if you haven't seen him he is in desperate need of a Mal equipped home. If you have the puppy fever... check him out ?

Bringing a puppy home on a plane

Actually, I've never spoken to the person who posted this thread, about K/Coolies or any other dog breed. I am talking about breeders in general. It would make no sense for me to knock health testings because no one in the breed does it yet. I've gotten some serious hatemail for the...

Bringing a puppy home on a plane

As opposed to what, letting her end up with a dog that she wouldn't like/had health problems/was the result of unethical breeding/ect? Give me a break! I for one welcomed recommendations with open arms both for and against the breeders I had in question. I'm not afraid of my choice but I...

Bringing a puppy home on a plane

I am flying my new puppy home in January under my seat. I also fly very frequently with my small dog under my seat. The majority of the larger airports do have an area for pet potty but you must plan on a long wait between flights (or until your flight) because to get to the potty areas you need...
