Breeds that don't fit you on paper, but that you actually like?

I am fairly certain you are me. I have a pittie and they fit me exactly, I used to have a Beagle and NEVER AGAIN, and am excluding all hounds except sight hounds. I pretty much came to say....the exact words you said. I include Brittany's in my no-no list though.

    Weird food preferences?

The only veggie I can get Aija to eat is lettuce and green beans, and sometimes a carrot but she usually just plays with those. She likes most fruits, but doesn't like the texture of bananas and there is no way in hell she will ever touch a citrus fruit. Nellie will eat any fruit or veggie...

What's the rarest dog breed you've met?

I have a Polish Lowland Sheepdog in daycare and he's pretty neat! Also, a breed that I see WAY more often than I would expect to here in Alaska is Bouviers, I know 4 or 5 of them, all from different owners.

What's the rarest dog breed you've met?

Probably Boerboel, A Saluki, and a pair of Stabyhoun. My coworker just got a wee baby Dutchie and MAN she is cute and pretty neat to be around.

    Shenanigans

Hahaha that is cute. Only my gal Nellie will play bow with me and it is ridiculous every time.

Breed(s) you would get except for...

Danes- except they don't live huge long lives and that would just tear my poor heart in two.

    Your dog's name vs. nicknames(s)

Nellie is just Nellie Belly, Nell Bell, Nell, or "come here, stupid". Aija has a million, and I always have a hard time typing her nicknames they way they are pronounced. Even though her name is said like "Asia" I will exaggerate the spelling when taking to her and call her AYYY JAHHH!, I...

    Is your dog smart?

I would say Nellie is decently average, she isn't particularly slow or quick at picking up new things, easy enough to teach thing but not so easy that we just fly through new behaviors left and right. Come to think of it, that ol gal is 10 and she just learned to "speak" finally, she never...

    Past dogs?

Today is a good day to talk about this as today would have been Jack's 16th birthday. I lost him just this last December. He was my good boy, the first dog that was ever MINE, he was the first dog to welcome every other dog I got into the home. While I'm glad he's fee from his epilepsy now, I...

    Geeking Out

I have zero idea where Aija's ended up. I wish I did though. I know of..two of Nellie's littermates floating around my area, and then one that is her sister but from a separate litter.

    Your heart dog?

I used to say it was Nellie. Jack was MY first dog who I just lost in December, I loved him so much and we really had something going there, he was my boy but then Nellie came along and made me realize while I loved them equally, her and I had a weird connection. Maybe it came through me working...

What will your next dog be?

Yessss. Look deep into Aija's eyes and remember this. Bully baby, bully baby, bully baby.

What will your next dog be?

Generally? Definitely a young male pit bull. Specifically? Ajax, the deaf pit bull sitting at my local shelter.

    How would you handle this?

Both my girls are great with children but I still would have yelled at the child. I have no patience with children, and even less patience with parents who don't teach their children how to behave around dogs.

Do you different set of rules for each dog?

Aija is allowed to be offleash a little more than Nellie, but generally Nellie is the "good" dog and can be left alone and doesn't need much direction.
